Several times during the last couple of weeks she mentioned the names of relatives who died years ago. Alzheimer's patients often recall memories from years past, even though their short-term memory is gone; so we didn't think that much about it until Friday. Really makes you think!

Wonderful tribute to your father. He was blessed to have a daughter like you.

I realize this will be a bit controversial, so take it as you will. My mom's Alzheimer's had really went into the advanced stages recently, she didn't even know us (her kids) the last 3 weeks or so. Last week she was even worse; just slept most of the time and when she would wake up she'd be way out there, just staring into space and mumbling random stuff. We visited with her Friday and she'd wake up occasionally and do the same thing over and over. She'd raise her hand like she was pointing, always at the same spot, then mumble something about a doorway and a man standing in it.

Thanks everyone. Mom had Alzheimer's for several years, and it went into the advanced stages over the last few months. She's been in a nursing home for the last couple of months. She died yesterday about noon, she was 88. My brother was with her, she went quickly and peacefully. My mom was a highly intelligent lady, and as loving and selfless a person as God ever created. We are comforted by the belief that she is now in a place of unfathomable magnificence, and that we will see her again. GD

She's been giving me fits for as long as we've been married, I doubt you can do anything with her.

Well folks, we'd better pray that unemployment doesn't go up even more. Many think that the events of yesterday (Healthcare bill passage) will send the economy back into a tailspin. I know a lot of employers who are terrified over this (me, for one) and the belts are being tightened even more...if that is even possible. Hang on, the ride may have just gotten rougher.

Here's the deal...We are in very difficult times; worse than I've ever seen them. We hear everyday about unemployment, but the media doesn't tell enough of the other side of the story...businesses fighting to stay alive. Most businesses (AKA employers) out there are in survival mode at the very best. Some are not so lucky; many have failed and many more will fail. Make no mistake, we are not out of the woods yet. To stay alive, many businesses have had to cut back. Some of these cut-backs affected the employees; reduced bennies, lower pay, fewer hours, etc. Bottom line...we're all in

DTV has always treated me well. Dish is an inferior service. You might look at UVerse as an alternative if you can't get satisfaction with DTV.

Does your comp have a recovery disc? If so, you can put that in and restore the machine to it's original state. Everything else will be erased.
