  1. Had a great steak with the wife at Stoney Creek in Cumberland mall. Good food but will NEVER go near that mall on a Saturday afternoon ever again. What a mess.
  2. Love to come look at it, but no way I can get there before 5:00. Bummer.
  3. I know of at least one grocery store that may run out of milk, they ordered for next Monday before the forecast changed. Might want to get there early!
  4. I think Pubby reported that the road expansion made it dangerous for the public to access the building. So they moved to the County seat temporarily while they build another new building back where they were in the first place on Macland. Planning is our business, but not our policy.
  5. Worked at RS for several of my college years. They had a good idea in those days in that they carried stuff that couldn't be found easily outside of the big cities. However, as others have mentioned, the internet has made it possible to get almost anything everywhere and the big box stores like Best Buy/Frys/Brandsmart are expanding to cover those areas that RS had exclusive access to before. RIP RS. I was glad to know ya.
  6. We're still paying on the 200 million dollar bond and they want to give our schools away? WTH? Sounds like a plan to get rid of schools full of students that are problems. Pack one school with as many of the problem children as possible, fail on the goals, then boo hoo, the BOE has the school taken out of their hands. What about the freaking taxpayers that are paying for it? Do we get our property taxes cut since our elected BOE will no longer control the school? Good grief. Only our Republican idiots in the state capital would think this is a good idea. Aga
  7. Yep they do, took a bunch of logs from a tree I cut down along with all the limbs. Limbs go in one place to be ground as mulch, logs go further down the road to be landfill.
  8. Heartbreaking. Early investigation shows that it was the RIGHT engine that failed, but the pilots shut down the LEFT engine by mistake. They could not restart in time to save the plane due to the low altitude. If they had just taken another few seconds to confirm the failed engine, we'd never had heard about it and 40 something people would be alive right now. As one pilot put it: On another note: Interesting how a quickly Taiwan is allowing the information on the FDR to come out but there is still not any data released from the Air Asia A320 that went down a m
  9. Ouch, that's gotta hurt. Federal filing is free, they make big bucks off the state e filings at $20 a pop. (With 4 different returns in our house, that is more than I paid for the program.) The whole efiling thing seems to allow a LOT of fraud, not just with Turbotax.
  10. Wasn't it just a couple of weeks ago someone was posting about Blue collar workers getting excellent pay? I've got a BS in Engineering and been working as an Optical SysEng for 25+ years and I don't make what the "average" pay is for a dockworker!! Here is some of of those "rich 5%er's" you guys keep complaining about. Yet they are willing to shut down a hefty percent of the the US economy to get MORE!! Dang. Source Shoot, I'd like a 3% raise every year, (I got 0% this year), a $35K health plan and guarenteed 80K/yr pension too. As I imagine it would be
  11. With all the housing issues of the last 8 years, I suspect quite a few of them are still filled with people trying to repair their credit.
  12. Why do hotdogs come in packs of 10 and buns in packs of 8? Why do you cut a tree down, then cut it up? Why do weeds grow like crazy in my yard, but grass dies within weeks? Why do the networks put the good shows on at 10:00 when I need to go to sleep?
  13. I figure they do since the cab driver in the car in front of them ended up in the hospital with a concussion. From what I understand, the wing actually hit his cab!
  14. Some of that for sure, but reading the pilot site it seems a lot of it has to do with training and experience. Many airlines around the world are de-emphasizing pilots hand flying the plane. They are insisting the pilots transfer control to the autopilot as soon as possible since the autopilot can trim the plane for higher fuel economy. This means within minutes of takeoff and often the autopilot totally controls the landing. So for an pilot doing an 8 hour Pacific flight, though his log shows 8 hours of time on the plane, his actual flying time is less than 10 minutes. So when you
  15. Cool, I love that movie. I think we used to have it on VHS, but never replaced it in DVD. It does explain why Clint did action movies rather than doing more musicals for the rest of his career.
  16. 20% chance of Snow/Rain in the morning according to NOAA. I'd bet your knee has a better success rate than the forecasters..
  17. I follow a pilot safety board and one of them found that the pilot called a mayday after takeoff saying that one engine flamed out. Another mentioned that with a twin, there is an effect that if the speed of the aircraft gets too low, something about the one remaining engine will induce an unstoppable roll. Looks to me that the pilot had to climb to avoid buildings, and at full load and only one engine, this caused the plane to slow to the point he lost control. But that's just a guess.
  18. Regulation on needing the fence from the referenced code. S
  19. Wonder if she had felt sick and leaned over the tub to puke and fell in when she lost consciousness.
  20. Yea I read that they have a range of about 20 acres and may have up to six dens, which may explain where it's been. I'll reset the trap tomorrow and see if anything else shows up. I've got a game camera on it as well, I'll pull the pictures in the morning and see if anything went in/out tonight. It's a rather large live trap that my dad found on his property a couple of years ago. I had read that the hardest part of trapping one is getting it into the trap, they can't find most bait, but putting a path straight to the trap seemed to work great. I would have just shot it, but I
  21. I was a fan of Google maps... until they updated it. Now it vacuums big time. (IMHO)
  22. Finally got the sucker last night! It seemed to have gone away for awhile, but I noticed the dog sniffing the hole under the driveway again and saw freshly dug dirt. Just put the trap in front of the entrance with bricks around the open end to force the bugger into the trap and SNAP! A really good thing I finally got it since my Concrete man is going to try to tear out that part of the driveway and repair it in the next couple of weeks.
  23. Wait, if you have not done all you could at not doing the job, then you have only done some at not doing the job, therefore you must have done some towards the job as well. You should have done all you could in not doing the job. You're fired for cause. We can't have government workers going around doing stuff or we really will be in a mess.
