No men OR women needed: Babies from stem cells

I see the wonderful benefits to this and welcome them but I also find it scary. It is a big step and I am reminded of the title to a song I like, "Every Rose Has It's Thorn". I hope our scientists and doctors use this knowledge well and wisely. Just never thought that book of fiction that I found so disturbing so many years ago could actually predict the future of science. -
"Get outta here", does that mean they want you to leave?

No men OR women needed: Babies from stem cells

I was making reference to the book. In it they made the children into Alphas (Superior), Betas , Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons (lowest in intelligence). Some they made very smart and some they made very stupid. No, I would not like to see our scientists and doctors alter children and create the kind they need for certain tasks. Hey, it's a book of fiction but it appears the ability to manipulate genes and create children is no longer fiction. -

Me too, but I guess I worry that too much can be done to make the child to specks. Like the fictional characters did in the book "Brave New World". It is horrifying to think that a child could be produced to fill a certain job or need in society. When I read the book years ago I NEVER thought science would be able to do those things. Well they can! -
Have we arrived at Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. (written in 1931 and published in 1932). This is amazing. Human eggs and sperm have been grown in the laboratory in research which could change the face of parenthood. It paves the way for a cure for infertility and could help those left sterile by cancer treatment to have children who are biologically their own. But it raises a number of moral and ethical concerns. These include the possibility of children being born through entirely artificial means, and men and women being sidelined from the process of making babies.

She favors her beautiful Aunt. She will understand why you could not be there and with her looks it won't be the only crown she will win. Maybe you can make it for the next one. -

That one confused me at first. If TBAR does not start speaking to us again then there won't be much chance you two would confuse folks! -

Lawsuit seeks to halt US swine flu vaccination campaign
NewsJunky replied to SoapMom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This is still America and I do not believe ANYONE should be FORCED to take something into their body that they do not want to take. Parents should be able to make this choice for their minor children too. I don't know if this vaccine is safe or not but I want to be able to choose whether or not to take it based on the information I can get about it. I want everyone to be able to make that choice for themselves! -
