Former State Sen. Nancy Schaefer & husband dead
NewsJunky replied to joemturner's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't think they have said anything beyond the fact that the deaths were not from natural causes. -
I am so sorry. It is so sad when young trusting people have to be exposed to the bad elements that share their world. I hope he recovers his phone. I have been told that the service provider can help.
-
There is also an announcement on the Paulding County Schools web site. I bet it will be in the Paulding Neighbor, the Sentinel, and the Dallas New Era too.
-
I am so sorry! I know how much you and your Daughter loved her. They leave a huge empty place in your heart when they go.
-
I think they are good questions. If you get a reply, I would like to know what it contains.

It really is encouraging to see that he is so well thought of. It looks like he was a good choice.
-
Thanks Pubby! I think he is well thought of within the system. I look forward to seeing how he will handle things.
-
I don't know too much about him but what I have heard has been positive.
-
I just heard that it is Cliff Cole. So what do you guys think? I don't know if it is permanent or temporary.

They will get it from this Administration too. No matter how corrupt they are. You know all about Chicago style politics though. -
ACORN WILL BE CLOSING ITS OPERATIONS.........
NewsJunky replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Acorn is disbanding under that name. They will be branching out into several organizations with new names. I read this a couple of weeks ago so don't ask me what the new names are. Okay here are a few of the new branch names. http://www.google.co...fAZA6AD9EEVUT80 One of the latest groups to adopt a new name is ACORN Housing, long one of the best-funded affiliates. Now, the group is calling itself the Affordable Housing Centers of America. Others changing their names include what were among the largest affiliates: California ACORN is now Alliance of Californians for Community Empow -
Proposal to place 4-H under Agriculture Dept.
NewsJunky replied to NewsJunky's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I think you are right about some of them having forgotten who brought them to the dance. At one time this state was represented by a majority of Democrats down under the Gold Dome. I remember telling one of them that I would not vote for him for dog catcher. He lost in the next election and the Party in Power slowly changed. If they DO NOT work for the people, listen to them, and if they do not adhere to their promises it has been my experience that they eventually lose that power. JMO -
I like it. I would like to see more of it. I say, You Go Girl!!!

New Zero Tolerance Bill Passes Senate
NewsJunky replied to NewsJunky's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I very much agree with that statement. -
I do believe this needed to change and I believe the House will approve it too. I know we discussed this recently and I thought some of you might be interested. http://blogs.ajc.com...te-unanimously/ Senate Bill 299 grew out of Jones' experience trying to get 14-year-old Eli Mohone out of a juvenile detention center in Morgan County last year. When Eli discovered that he had inadvertently brought a fishing knife to his Morgan County middle school in October, he took the weapon to the office. For his responsible actions, he was dragged off in handcuffs, convicted of a felony, expell

Proposal to place 4-H under Agriculture Dept.
NewsJunky replied to NewsJunky's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I don't think I like that idea either Pubby. Maybe they could just do it with the 4-H program and leave the colleges alone. -
Surely they will deport her! This woman should have been discovered and deported long ago!

Cigarettes are like an old friend that is always there when you are stressed or bored or just because you love them. I did too. They can also be a crutch. I would still love to be able to smoke. I watched my Mother and Dad suffer with emphysema. Mother had lung cancer so does my sister. All smoked for many years. I had to quit because my health would not allow me to continue. I would stand next to any one of you smokers and enjoy just getting the second hand smoke. When You decide that you want to quit, and you really want to, you will find a way.

Proposal to place 4-H under Agriculture Dept.
NewsJunky replied to NewsJunky's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Yes, that is the truth! I guess we will have to see where it goes and what those details are. I want this program to survive. -
They control you not the other way around. I used the patch for about a month then just stopped. I tried to quit at least 6 times. You CAN do it when you really make up your mind to do it.
-
This might be a good move and it would keep the 4-H program that so many love. It would also place all of the state's agricultural colleges under the Department of Agriculture . They are currently under the Board of Regents. As I understand it, the voters would have to approve the move. http://wsbradio.com/...endment-to.html What do you guys think?

That would really be nice!
