European Airspace shut down by volcanic ash cloud
NewsJunky replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Did I hear something about the airlines suing the EU because they can't fly in? Not sure how this would fly. Link to story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100419/ap_on_bi_ge/eu_world_airlines_volcano -
I think it is supposed to be Mrs. Jughaid.

Makes my heart hurt. Prayers said for his family and friends.

Some officials, Including our President, had to cancel their attendance at the Polish President's funeral. That volcano is a sight to see and very scary. It apparently is becoming very costly too. -
I want one too. I wonder if he would make friends with the kids and pets in the neighborhood or spray them with water?

Where do you get your Medicare prescriptions filled
NewsJunky replied to Cathyhelms's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think it is illegal to give them to someone else. Hospice might be able to recycle them though. It is a shame to waste them. -

I read that a Doctor used to have a fine of $10,000 at most assessed if they made a mistake in the government guidelines. Under the new Bill an error can cost them up to $50,000. Who would want to deal with that worry under this government? Another Doctor has a sign in his window in Arizona: “If you voted for Obamacare, be aware these doors will close before it goes into effect.” The note is signed Joseph M. Scherzer M.D. “****Unless Congress or the Courts repeal the BILL.” -
Groups lobby against English-only driver's license test

I wonder how many of those demonstrating are citizens of Georgia? It seems to me that the legal citizens and voters should have the voice here but I suspect that those lobbying will get their way. After all that would be the Politically Correct thing to do. -

That is the reason they are refusing. Some doctors are starting to say the same thing. My Dentist won't accept Medicare or Medicaid. -

No, just reading YOURS again. Your opinion is no more important nor relevant than any other opinion stated here. I just think DonBrownJr is correct and you are not. I think I do have a right to tell him so too. -

Yep!! I know that some believe that saying something over and over will make it true but there is no way that it does. -

Good for the companies, but this is about the safety of Georgia roads and the cost to her taxpayers in this bad economy. The Politically correct crowd will win this down at the Gold Dome I have no doubt! It will not be the best decision for the citizens/taxpayers of Georgia though. -
Not likely but then again this is 24 so who knows.

I watched. All of the women he loves end up to be traitors or dead. Sometimes they end up being both traitors and dead. So sad.

Thank you for a good post on this subject. I believe the language issue keeps immigrants from rising as high as they can in the work places in America. It causes a division in the citizens here and keeps a low wage class from which some businesses can get cheap labor. When immigrants came to America in our early history they did not get any entitlements and no health care paid for by the government. They learned English to get better jobs and be better equipped to take care of themselves. We have made it easy for them to stay in seperate communities and never learn the language. It is no -

I thought most countries had a policy of not putting all of their leaders on the same plane. Strange. -

Yes, I know Math is said to be the universal language but the spoken word is a different type of language . Universal was a poor choice of words I guess. This is from Wikipedia. I could get it from other sources but this is quickest.: Global media, the legacy of the British Empire, the status of the United Kingdom as an economic superpower in the first half, and the United States in the latter half of the twentieth century led to the informal adoption of English as the primary language of international business and the dominant language in global communication. In origin English devel -

That will only happen if we follow your lead and give America away to another nationality! If we love and value our culture we will not allow it to happen. I always thought that English was the universal language but it appears that you think it should/could be Spanish. I think you are the one who is on the slippery slope. Maybe you can explain it to your kids someday when this is no longer the USA. There should be more laws like this one but I have my doubts that they will have the courage to pass this one. I think I am done with this subject. No minds are being changed and it is -

It is not and should not be the taxpayers responsibility to pay for materials not written in English and if this stuff is allowed to continue we may be speaking Spanish in America. My Grandchildren are having to learn it now just to increase their chances to work in their home country of the USA. I do see something wrong with that picture. Why should I even have to worry about not being able to speak the language in MY home country? I applaud the Georgia Legislature for bringing this Bill to the floor. The divisions in this country are growing every year and the refusal of a majority of i
