I'm thankful for the dirty dishes in the sink, the laundry piled up in the hampers, the loud music coming from the boy's rooms, the dust clinging to the furniture, the gas in the vehicles in the garage, that small little leak in the ceiling and the quiet little snoring sound coming from my love lying next to me in bed at night. Let's hope they are still here through 2010!

Tree and nativity scenes will stay up until the Epiphany (January 6th). It's still Christmas until then.

Thanks to a fellow PCommer I was able to send my son and his best friend, avid GT fans, to the Chick-fil-A Bowl last year for his 16th birthday. He still talks about this.

My wife sent these to me a few weeks ago. Absolutely hilarious!

Why? The question is asked because I've been debating this for the past couple of years. I've been to so many friend houses who have installed hardwoods only to put down area rugs. Why? Re-sale value is not a good answer either. Not in this economy. The sound in the rooms is horrible. Although I have been told it is easier to clean, I don't think running a vacuum is all too hard either. Can someone please tell me why hardwoods are better than carpeting?

Although there is some confusion as to when Advent, Christmas and Epiphany begin and end this is how were were taught in Catholic School... Advent ends on December 24th at 11:59PM, bringing the 1st day of Christmas on the 25th (hence the midnight mass). The last day of Christmas is January 5th at 11:59PM, bringing the Epiphany on the 6th. This is the day the tree, and all other decorations are to be taken down because it is no longer Christmas. Impressive. Most impressive.

My wife was actually in the middle of this thing when it started. The first two or three cars in front of her crashed into each other, she swerves to avoid them while cars behind her started crashing into each other. Somehow, by the grace of God, she managed to not get hit. She did pull over to offer assistance while the police were in route. She's a very, very luck woman.
