  1. I'm new to Smyrna, but one of my favorite places here is Vittles. I know it's been around forever, but has changed it's location once or twice.
  2. The first time mine and MDs dogs met was in my former front yard, summer before last. They got a little bit rowdy. My cat, Aggie, ran out from the garage and whipped both their butts!!! The dogs have gotten along just fine since then.
  3. Looks good in person? If you've been, I'd be happy to hear your personal review. As for traveling outside the county... Sounds like some sort of dig. No clue to whom it may be directed though. I don't live in Paulding.
  4. My 17 y/o stepson went and told us not to bother bringing the babies (7&8 y/o) He said it was terribly ghetto. That's $90 saved!!!
  5. Beautiful Angel! Even though I don't celebrate, or decorate, I very much enjoy the Christmas lights I've seen around town this year. Smyrna has a gorgeous display. I'll try to get some pictures if I'm out at night this weekend.
  6. If you sit in the drive thru of anywhere for any extended amount of time, you're an asshole. Drop your crap off and come back to pick it up. You're not the only sick person in the world. If you're in your pajamas, fine. Go park and stay in your vehicle. Clogging up the window is selfish.
  7. What difference does it make that he's a dad? I see news reports all the time about mothers or fathers of however many children getting killed or arrested ....is that all they are? Even though I'm a mother of four, stepmother of four, I'd be pissed as hell if that's the only way the news could come up with to describe me.
  8. My Black Friday shopping has consisted of dinner at Timbers, and will be followed by diet cokes at The Barrel. Yes. I'm thankful that bars are open
  9. Surepip. I don't profess to be the culinary master that you are. The turkey carcass got fed to the coyotes, possums, raccoons, and other various and assorted wildlife creatures that travel through our yard. I don't eat food with bones in it, so, boiling body parts to make stock is absolutely out of the question. That crap is cheap as hell to buy at the grocery store. Baking pie crusts is also not worth my while. Even being so recently unemployed, I'll spring for store bought. My question was more about dealing with the sheer volume of leftovers versus very limited storage space. Thankful
  10. I found a stash of butter tubs. There are now 9 of them in the fridge. Hope no one needs the actual butter, ever.
  11. We have a dorm size extra fridge. For beer. There's still beer in it that we brought home from Spring Thunder Beach. It's full. But I can't throw away beer. It's against my religion.
  12. About their leftovers???? We fed five adults and two children. We have enough food leftover to feed at least ten more grown men. There's no way my refrigerator will hold all of this. Unless I get extremely creative.
  13. This was mine and MDs first thanksgiving together. I think weave some cherish able memories! Last year my oldest son and I went to Arkansas to have thanksgivings with my parents, respectively. Dinner at dad's was a total uncomfortable disaster. At mom's it was a riotous food time. Year before last, my former husband got drunk, fell down the stairs, and was carted off via ambulance, ar 3am on Thanksgiving morning. WFAL and I followed behind. We drove home as the sun was coming up. I still managed to cook an excellent dinner, and DGITW's British husband carved the turkey. Year before that,
  14. Happy anniversary!!!! MD had bronchitis last Fall. I was terrified, cause he's old and stuff. He wouldn't even take a day off work! I swear, he's just gonna keel over one day and I won't notice until he's late to the supper table. Men are stubborn.
  15. In Dallas, I recommend Joan's or even Rodney's.
  16. We go to Vittles in Smyrna almost every weekend for breakfast. It's on South Cobb at Windy Hill. Amazing food. Huge portions. Very affordable prices. All sorts of knick knacks to look at while you wait for your food. They have a smoking side as well as a non smoking side. I love it there.
  17. My kids are big, and we don't celebrate 'Christmas' per se. I still give them stockings though, with candy and little silly things. Just to make them feel 'normal', I guess.
  18. Domestic violence applies to children as well. Why is it by proxy if the parent is abusing the child instead if the ex? Ugh. Too messy. I wish everyone with an abusive spouse, ex spouse, or parent well in this situation.
  19. several times!!!! lol it was always something i was geared up for doing every year. this year, i'm tired. it's more important to spend the day with my family than to exhaust myself buying crap that no one wants or needs. dammit. does this mean i finally grew up?!?!?!?
  20. i don't care for the airing of other peoples laundry, so i haven't read this thread. just wanted to say that the OP's screen name truly does crack me up. seriously. domestic violence by proxy???? makes me think of some guy asking someone else to beat his wife and kids for him. maybe someone will educate me as to what it really means.....
  21. i usually go to target and old navy, at least. probably not this year.
