  1. My chickens are bitchy and haven't laid for three days.
  2. I take it in spells. Lurk for a while...then post to stir the pot. What can I say? Winter weather isn't conducive to my usual forms of entertainment.
  3. :raiseshand: and adds.....because car crashes never occurred before the invent of cell phones?
  4. I used them for a gluten free wedding cake a few years ago. I was extremely impressed with their product and their services!
  5. but waiting for the school system to tell you to keep your kids home from school today and tomorrow makes you and your kids a pussy, right?
  6. in summation, you're a bad ass who thinks everyone in the metro area should live up to your standards of cold weather tolerance and reasoning. got it but choose not conform to your standards thanks!
  7. um, paulding announced their closing for Monday, last night.....
  8. I haz a helmet.....but the po-lice might not enjoy my stickers.
  9. Folks must be staying off the roads tonight. It's been eerily quiet at dispatch. Halfway through tonight's shift and all we've had was an impound for no insurance at Pat Mell and Windy Hill, and a dodge ram rollover into the wooded median, 75N, just north of Windy Hill. Lets hope it stays quiet!!!
  10. It's raining here in Smyrna. Cold rain. Feels/sounds like sleet, but the temps don't support my theory. It's gonna be a long night.
  11. Dang, how's anyone supposed to get a sitter at 11:00 on a Sunday night?????
  12. I live in a really sketch area. We have homeless camps under our bridges. I ride with a group of guys who take meals and socks to the folks less fortunate through the seven bridges to recovery church. It's more on my mind than busted pipes and power outages. That was me being shortsighted. Hopefully there won't be a great need for folks to get warm. I pray the power lines won't ice over.
  13. Whaaa? Just letting you know where my mind went when you posted about the centers.
  14. I guess I was thinking about the homeless. But you're right. If the power goes out, lots of folks are gonna be cold.
  15. Oh, ferdalubbagawd. It's not truancy if you send a note. You get so many excused absences per year. Unless, you've already used them all up for non legitimate reasons..... I'll be happy to stand in front of a judge for keeping my step kids out of school on Tuesday, if the school is open.
  16. I'm sure there's some sort of policy they're following. That would make more sense than believing that the school board is just being contrary to spite you, or any other parent.
  17. I hate to think that warming centers are needed, but truly grateful that they exist.
  18. Meh. Much easier for the county government to decide whether your kid is gonna freeze to death on the corner while waiting for the bus.
  19. Why? Because parents are incapable of watching the weather and determining what's best for their own child? My wife informed me at noon today that she won't be taking the kids to school on Tuesday, because of the weather. She's a procrastinator from hell and a ding bat to boot....but she's pretty damn good at figuring out what's best for the babies.
  20. Well, because you were all responsible and junk, you should probably let everyone else know of your contingency plan, now, after 10pm on a Sunday night, while its sleeting....just in case they can't find a sitter at 6am if the schools close. It's your civic duty, ya know?
  21. Damn. You should have called juliesmom to give her a heads up. BFF fail!!!!
  22. You know you don't have to send Julie to school tomorrow, right? You can exercise your own judgement as her parent and make your arrangements for her care.
  23. Yep. Cobb schools ARE closed tomorrow. Mostly because they're not scheduled to come back from Xmas break until Tuesday.....
