  1. I have a 60" TV with a surround system that literally makes the floor and walls shake. I like it, especially watching movies like Avengers. The next TV is probably going to be a bigger one, 70" or bigger.
  2. Some of the responses here read as if they are for the Passkey I or II. The Passkey III is used on GM vehicles from '99 on (as far as I know). So the Malibu has the PK3 system. This uses a RFID tag in the key itself, the ignition switch (where the key goes) sends out a low voltage electrical signal to activate a small chip in the key. The chip then sends back a low powered signal to the car, if the code matches to what the car is coded for then car will start. Sometimes the connectors that connect the ignition switch to the wiring harness can get corrosion on them. This will lower the volt
  3. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br />So he was supposed to go out and the use the equipment himself?
  4. Tried to post a longish response in a thread. Apparently if you switch windows the post will get erased.
  5. TRUCK it, I had the same issue with a GM car. Whatever the hell is wrong the board just erased my entire post. Don't feel like retyping it.
  6. http://www.ajc.com/news/news/teens-leg-amputated-while-pushing-stuck-car/nc7dq/ A 14 year old girl lost her leg.
  7. You're stupid, you just said you can't get out. Just because some roads are passable, not all are. The decision was made for safety. You can find a clear stretch, then hit an spot where you'll end up getting stuck. If a bus gets to spot where it has to stop, or even while stopping to drop off a kid. It may get stuck on the ICE and not be able to get moving again. I walked almost miles to my sister's house yesterday. It took 2.5 hours, there were main roads where I walked a mile, and the cars moved maybe 100 feet. And the roads are worse today. So take your head out off your ass and be
  8. Couldn't get home last night, every road was backed up and decided to walk to my sister's house. It was almost 8 miles, made it in 2.5 hours. It took her 2 hours to go 3 miles, then another hour to go another 2 miles. They walked the rest of the way. Everyone who is bitching about the buses not running and the schools keeping kids over night. You better be thanking them for the decisions, there were people who had to sleep in their cars on 75, the highways, and other areas all over the place.
  9. How stupid are you? They are safer in a warm building than on an ice road on a bus.
  10. How hard would it have been to decide to keep your kids home? The weather forecast is a best guess, so if anyone was concerned, keeping the kids home would have been easy enough.
  11. Shove that attitude up your ass. They have a lot more important stuff to deal with than you self righteous ass. There are wrecks, people stuck in overturned vehicles, and a lot more important issues to deal with than you being stuck and not moving. Ever wonder why the protect comes first? But of course, you think that you being stuck in traffic is the end of the world. Suck it up, shove it up your ass. There are literally thousands of others in the same situation. And hundreds far worse off.
  12. Oh look, the resident drunk is on another bender.
  13. Why bother bitching about something if you don't want to hear all and any answers? You asked a question, you got an answer, that's what happens. It's pretty easy to understand that.
  14. Jeans and t-shirts is pretty much what I wear most of the time.
  15. The amount of time it takes a body of water to freeze is dependent on the thermal capacity of the water. A larger body of water has a higher thermal capacity than a smaller one. The amount of heat energy that is lost depends on the surface area, a larger surface loses heat faster than a smaller one. For example, a cup of boiling water will freeze faster than a kiddie pool full of water at 35 degrees. That explains why the waterfall was able to freeze, a small stream of water has a lower thermal capacity than a large stream. When it's falling over the edge of the waterfall, it has a gr
  16. Yes really. If the pressure can't be relieved the ice expands outward. If the pressure can be relieved, the ice expands along the length of the pipe. Water cannot be compressed, so the ice needs to expand out when the pressure is not relieved. When it can be relieved there is still ice in the pipe, it does not burst the pipe since it was able to travel along the length of the pipe. Ice can expand in width and length or both at the same time. If there isn't any pressure the pipes wouldn't burst. And that is what I said before, the leak allows the pressure to be relieved and that's why the p
  17. There's a bobcat that shows up just about every year in the woods behind my house. And there looks like what is a dead bobcat on Dallas-Acworth Highway about 2 miles or so past East Paulding Drive, heading towards 41.
  18. When I was working in fast food, I wouldn't hire someone that showed up like that or acted like that. I found out that they can provide the best impression, but more often than not they were whiney, ass kissing, lazy bastards. They showed up like that because their parents said "Make a good impression and you'll get hired.". I tended to hire the ones that would come in, on their own (no parents waiting) and were eager, they didn't have to the best interview skills or the best people skills either. It's something you develop a feel for after a while.
  19. Whether they burst or not depends on a few factors. If your home has anti-hammer devices installed they can provide enough relief that the expansion in the pipes can prevent them from bursting. If your toilet has a small leak, or if the toilet fill valve has a small leak then that can allow the water in the pipes that doesn't freeze to leak out keeping the the pipes from bursting. A small leak in a faucet or spigot can also keep the pipes from bursting. The frozen water isn't what causing the pipes to burst, it's the pressure from the expansion that causes them to burst. If the pressure ha
  20. Golly gee, really? Wow, that is amazing information. How much more bits of knowledge do you know?
  21. WTF? They were on the ramp and never even thought of walking to the bottom of it? How stupid were they? There's a Pilot gas station right there.
  22. I've had my pipes freeze three times, it was the supply line coming into the house each time. I poured coffee on it twice, and the other time I used bottled water that I ran through the coffee maker without coffee and poured it on the pipe.
  23. Has it ever been used? If not, then it would be like using it for the first time after the house was built.
  24. So in other words, if a kid has FB they were asked to promote it. Same thing with a parent or anyone else that the kids knows, and that person also has FB. Not really any different than when schools would handout bumper stickers. The middle and elementary schools knew full well that the kids didn't drive or own a car.
