Aldi backed out. They said that there was not enough traffic at that intersection. A Dollar Tree and Advanced Auto are now slated to go there. Yes, there is an Advanced Auto Parts on the opposite corner and Eagle Dollar on the other corner in the Kroger shopping center. Source: http://northpauldingcounty.blogspot.com/

My mom got the flu shot this year, as she does every year. (I do, too.) My mom also got the pneumonia shot last year and it is supposed to last 5 or 10 years. This year, my mom got the flu AND pneumonia at the same time. I didn't even know that could happen! She was practically bedridden for the entire month of Dec. We will all still continue to get the shots every year. The shot doesn't *prevent* you from getting the flu as they cannot predict what the particular strain is going to be. But it does seem to lessen the severity of it if you do get it. In my mom's case, she is very small (90

Go ahead and do it. I didn't get the shots because I'm a diabetic and it would've raised my sugars too high. I had my surgery at the Pinnacle surgery center in Woodstock near Towne Lake and that ended up being cheaper than having it at the hospital. It was a very nice facility (only 3 years old) and they took great care of me there. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. Good luck!

I can move my fingers a bit more now that 2+ weeks have gone by since the surgery. I saw the doctor the other day to get my stitches out and he said that what I was experiencing was normal since I was so inflamed/swollen at the time of the surgery. He said I had a LOT of fluid inside my hands. I'm still sore, swollen, and can't make anywhere near a fist yet, but it's a lot better than it had been. He said in 4-6 weeks that I will feel totally different than I do now. I'm still 100% thankful for the improvement that I have and so glad that I went ahead and did the surgery. I'm also very glad th

For much less expensive urns and memorials, try Perfect Memorials (http://www.perfectmemorials.com/pet-urns/). They have gotten good reviews and are much less expensive than the place that the Cobb Emergency Vet contracts out to.

I have heard numerous WONDERFUL things about Dean Bucci as an attorney. I am very glad to hear that he is the new Judge. As far as the infamous resident you referred to above, it seems to have been quiet over there for a while. Hopefully that is a good thing. I often wonder why the two signs have been taken down, though. So sorry you had to go through all of that. What a shame.

Go ahead and plop right down on that public toilet seat
Christine0402 replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I sure hope so! (For my sake, not there's. I'd think that'd be a very dirty place to put your feet!) Some claim that it is supposedly healthier to do it that way, based on the position that your body is in. I wouldn't think so, but who knows. -
Go ahead and plop right down on that public toilet seat
Christine0402 replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I worked with a woman who STOOD on the toilet seats at work. She was from another country. She always wore sandals (even in the winter) and would rub her feet all over the floor that people walked on with the bottoms of their shoes. Then she'd put those filthy dirty feet on top of the toilet seat to do her business. NEVER AGAIN did I use the restroom there without a toilet seat cover, even though she only used one particular stall in the restroom. I've been mortified ever since. As if she was not bad enough, I can't imagine what else goes on in there that I am not aware of. (And yes, I underst -

Thank you. Me, too!

Thanks for inquiring! And for the feedback regarding your experiences! Yes, I did have the surgeries on Thursday 12/04. And yes, I had both hands done. After reading tons and tons of posts, both here and elsewhere, and after talking to my doctor before the surgery, I agreed to do both hands. At my pre-op, I told him that I was going to do only one hand. My doc said that he thought about me the night before my surgery when he saw my name on the schedule for the next day, and he figured that I would probably change my mind. He told me that I could change my mind up until the last minute,

My sister has RA. She takes Xeljanz and I believe she has to have her liver tested quite frequently. I think the same was true when she was on Methotrexate and other similar meds.

You calling me old, Grumps? I've had the "stuck finger that snaps/bends" type of trigger finger before in my pinky. That was a few years ago and it went away after a few days/weeks on its own. That was not painful at all, just a nuisance. This time, its in both my index fingers and is a lot different. I have to keep my index fingers straight. But not all the way straight because I can't get them to straighten all the way out. They are probably 90-95% straight. I can't bend my fingers at all when I wake up in the morning. After a few minutes of stretching them, I can get them to be

I've always considered a "rescue" pet as one that is rescued from the pound/shelter or adopted from a rescue group. I'd even include a stray that is outside and brought in to keep. Basically, anything but those purchased from a breeder or pet store. (Just the thought of that makes me cringe.)

Thank you both! You have made me feel much better about doing both! It's going to save me a lot of money (avoiding duplicate fees all around), even though maybe the doctor's fee might be a little higher. Plus, I'm in pain and anxious to get my dumb fingers fixed! Thanks again!

My trigger release surgery is scheduled for this Thursday. It can't be soon enough. I've been suffering with useless, painful index fingers for 9 months and I'm sick of it. I was planning on doing the right index finger this time, and then the left index finger after the first of the year since the recovery is supposed to be 6 weeks. I paid my $200 doctor co-payment at my last appointment, knowing that I would also owe for a facility fee and the anesthesiologist fee. Today, I found out that I will owe a facility fee of $200! Silly me thought it might be $50 or something like that. Anesthes

I did not have any soreness from the flu shot whatsoever. My husband got the flu shot 2 minutes after I did and from the same person, and he complained that his arm was sore for a few days afterward. Now the pneumonia shot supposedly really hurts for several days afterward. I asked my pharmacist why and he thought it might be because of a thicker serum and therefore a larger diameter needle? Not sure, but everyone I know who has had it has complained that it hurts more than the flu shot. I'd suffer with a potentially sore arm for a few days rather than the actual flu or pneumonia. No q

I had a cervical epidural steroid injection 3 times. The first time it was uncomfortable, but only for a minute. The doctor said it was because I was so swollen and inflamed and the medicine had nowhere to go. The second and third ones didn't bother me at all. I didn't feel much pain relief after the first shot, but I felt great after the second one and near perfect after the third. I have been pain-free for over a year now and very glad that I went through with the shots. I know a lot of people said that the shots did nothing for them, but it sure did work for me. And it beats the alternative

Ouch. All of those stories make my own shoulder hurt even worse. I'm looked up some frozen shoulder exercises on YouTube and have been doing them until I can get in to see the physical therapist. I am so afraid of my shoulder totally locking up, as Lowrider mentioned above. I am going to try to make my first PT appointment this week. Just like everyone else, I have far too many things going on between now and the end of the year to be laid up with a dumb shoulder that won't budge! Thank you all for your feedback. I really appreciate it! I will definitely do the PT thing and ask about the o

I've been noticing for the past month or so that my right shoulder has been very stiff and painful. I also have a lot of limited range of motion. It has been getting progressively worse, to the point that I haven't been able to sleep because I can't find a comfortable position. The other day, I was babysitting two toddlers. Chasing them around and picking them up had put my shoulder in very bad pain. I had a follow-up appointment with my orthopedist yesterday for my broken toe joint and double trigger finger (yeah, I'm a mess - and trigger release surgery is scheduled for 12/4), and the d

n paulding student arrested for twitter threat
Christine0402 replied to mei lan's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Here is another link. It actually includes the threat itself. This boy was old enough to know better. People are saying that this was just a "joke", but it did not sound like a joke at all to me. I am glad that the authorities are taking this seriously. Maybe 20 years ago you could have "joked" like this, but you can't do that anymore. http://www.cbs46.com/story/27332888/teen-arrested-after-allegedly-threatening-to-shoot-up-a-paulding-county-school?autostart=true- 14 replies
