Oh yes, when they say they will send you an umbrella is incorrect. You have to come to the studio to pick it up. Yeah, I'm not going all the way down there for an umbrella.

http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/dpp/good_day_atl/Increase-in-Latch-Key-Kids-Seen-20110825-gda-sd that's the story and I appreciate the message they are trying to send. I've probably mentioned that when my daughter was in the first grade I asked her what she would do if someone asked her to help find their lost puppy/kitten. Yeah, she said she'd help them find it. It's a scary world, you want them to be aware but not scared of everything. It's a fine line.

and they showed it again at noon. Just sayin.

This was the response on their fb page: FOX 5 Atlanta The segment we aired this morning was discussing the topic of “latchkey kids” but the family we featured was just considering the possibility of leaving their son alone. If you watched the story closely the father says that after we asked his son some questions he felt that his son was not ready to stay home alone. They do not live on Oak Manor. Thank you for watching and we appreciate your concerns. Hmm, that's not the name of the street they showed... but anywho.

really?? M & M used to be my neighbors in Mtown when they first got married. I just realized this was their house that burned. My sister lives a few doors down from them. I still can't believe this!! -
Maybe I've just had too much coffee this morning... but Fox5 played a segment about latchkey kids. They interviewed a dad talking about when to leave his son home alone. I think they said the kid was 10. Well, they showed their house, the street they lived on, his bus number, their names. I typed in the name of the street in google and two seconds later I saw their house on my screen. I didn't have their exact address but since they showed them coming out of the front door of the home I used the street view & found the house. No, I DON'T have a job, lol. Yes, I have too much time but I'm p

Ask my momma, I'm a tattletale. I will call another parent so fast their head would spin. BUT, there are the parents who are in COMPLETE denial or the ones that really don't care. -

The part that take the cake is that he was a teenager, on his cell, with a toddler strapped in the middle seat belt. Why bother with stopping or car seats?? Meh. -

oh boy, that is not the way it is anymore. Most of the flights are oversold. I can't tell you how many times I've had to stay an extra night because I got bumped. -

Oh yes!! Thank you! DD and I were >< that close to being hit at the 4way stop on Ridge yesterday. It was my turn and I was already out in the intersection when the moron just decided he didn't really need to stop. He had to swerve around me and then shrugged his shoulders at me. WTF? -
Non emergency; just neighborhood shenanigans

wait, are you in my hood? Baby momma (aka MOTHER OF THE YEAR), 4wheelers, running pit bulls, speeders on a blind hill, kids setting the Paulding neighbor ablaze at the end of your driveway? No? Invite to sit on my front porch... hahahaa! -
The kid lives in my neighborhood. I saw it too. We do have bus service in our neighborhood even though we live almost across the street from Austin. We had a crossing guard on the first day but from what I understand there are not enough resources to have a guard/popo at every school. I take my daughter and a neighbor in the morning to Austin and last week this guy was going at LEAST 50 in the 35 school zone. I pulled out (but not out in front of him) and slowwwwwwwed down to, oh, about 2mph. I rolled down my back window and held up 3 fingers then 5 fingers. Yeah, he was NOT happy.. meh. Ther

I do believe we got it in 95 with Bellsouth. I had no idea how to use it and wasn't sure if we were being charged for visiting pages, lol. Ohh, how I loved ICQ back then!!

I felt it. I was on the sofa (big surprise there) and my husband was in the kitchen. Not exactly sure what he was doing in there and I said, "What are you doing in there? You're shaking the whole house".. but he opened & closed the fridge so I thought that was it. We weren't online or watching tv or anything so I didn't know. We started watching Dexter & then I got online & saw it. Nothing fell off the walls, I wasn't thrown in the floor, I just felt a vibration in the sofa... insert joke here...... LOL..
