  1. Crownapp: bawhahahahahahaa! Joann, thanks! I will email when I get home. I actually found some great info today. My dad has a copy of a letter his gggrandfather wrote his wife while he was a Confederate soldier. I found his record today and that he died 3 months after writing the letter. He was killed in battle. I am such a baby that while reading the letter & knowing he was killed not long after made me cry. Gaah, cry baby!
  2. There is a barn that I would LOVE to have my family picture taken in front of on Rainey road.. I think this may be Carroll county though.. It's right on the road at the end of a driveway. Maybe someone knows them!!
  3. oooh, I haven't had the dna test yet, I'd like to have my dad tested.
  4. Brad, that's so funny! My husband & I met online but his people are from Kansas, explains a lot... hahahaa. That's a pretty neat site. I have one distant ancestor buried in New Hampshire not far from where my best friend lives. I wish I'd known when I was last up there. I'm going back up in October so I'll look then!
  5. We have a regular antenna with smaller rabbit ears. We get 30 or so channels which is perfect since we don't watch a lot of tv, I just really need it for the Falcons games. Anything else (like netflix or something) & I'll hook the laptop up to the tv.
  6. me either! Good to know! Well, the deputy called my husband who made a full report over the phone. Thank you Deputy! I just want to add that he (Mr. Deputy) was super nice & let me know that what happened was NOT petty.. that's why we have only called the popo twice in five years. But now I know it's better to leave a paper trail. Thank you PCSO! I feel like I need to make him brownies or something... LOL!
  7. The non-emergency number is 770-445-2117 . Sadie, you know it girl! And I must shout out to the deputy who followed up with a phone call. thanks a bunch!
  8. thanks for the info! Like sands through the hourglass over here!
  9. someone needs to... Well, seems we don't have to file a report after all. Husband just called & the officer at the SO said my call to the non-emergency number WAS the report. Um, eh? Anywho, it's on record.
  10. Yeah, you should have been at my house last night. Oh boy. My husband has gone to file the report I'm about to take a nap since I was up all night long.
  11. I'm having a situation with someone and would like to have it on record, do you just go up to the SO and file it? I had to call the non-emergency number last night so that's on record I would think. Do you have to type your own statement to take up there?? I would think NOT but someone else says yes.
  12. how do you know I'm not? Delta pays the mortgage!
  13. How beautiful! I'm glad you had pcommers to help make your day special.
  14. I've only watched T&T on netflix and gaped the entire time. Gaping is a lot like I want to see Dance Mom's now. I am a dance mom and if I encountered the women I read about, I'd punch them in the throat! I LOVE our dance director, I count her as a friend and our teachers are so wonderful I can go on for days. I can't imagine being in that environment with my child. Someone would get their arse kicked.
  15. ps, when I went to the cemetery, CrownApp was with me EVEN IF SHE DENIES IT and one of her folks is buried right beside one of mine.. I so luff her.
  16. Well, since my husband doesn't work for ALPA, that would be Delta's bank account.
  17. Yup, I have photos of my trip to Sweetwater, even though it's just a few mins from my house. I received a fb message from someone on the Norton side.. The new Douglas county ball fields are named Norton Field after my people thanks to my cousin Andy Norton!
  18. We are Pro-Union not sure there are many thugs in ALPA
  19. Wealthy folks are wealthy for a reason (for the most part): they worked hard for what they have. Look at lottery winners for example, if you don't work hard for something & know how to invest or prioritize you won't have the money long. *In response to the Postman
  20. I have something going on in my family like this. I would take any and all donations of your slap of the day for this one person. I love this person bc they are a member of my family but there are so many things they are doing that makes me want to pull my hair out. You can only help someone so much before you are the one worrying and they are the one getting fat & lazy.
  21. That's what I'm saying. People haven't forgotten the actual event, but the coming together of everyone. I am not watching tv on the 11th. I know what I was doing that morning, I watched it on tv for days just like everyone else. I want to commemorate the day my own way & it won't be by watching it over & over on tv.
  22. I just saw that TLC put out a statement condemning the mom. If they were so disturbed about it why run it? Oh, I forgot, RATINGS. Pfft.
  23. I had the very best mentor to help me get started. All my life I thought my parents were both from Atlanta but turns out my dad's family settled in south Paulding & when I say settled I mean no one else was there, lol. I guess I'm Old Paulding.. dad's family is buried in Sweetwater Church cemetery and I found my great X 4 grandfather who came here from Virginia. While I was going through looking at the graves, my friend & I wandered down to what we thought were really old graves.. it was not really old graves, but what we can figure was the "black" part of the cemetery. It was overgro
