  1. What does this have to do with anything in this topic? So if a kid goes to a movie with another kid whose parents invited him and he takes no money, he's going to grow up and be a dead beat loser that will never own a home with no mortgage or a car with no payment? REALLY!? That seems to be a little bit if a stretch to me.
  2. How is that possibly RUDE? Do you charge people for the food that you serve if you INVITE them to your house? If YOU extend an invitation, YOU'RE the host and the cost associated with your invite is all yours. To expect anything else is RUDE in my book.
  3. Washing the car is a big one at our house. The grandbabies love washing, 5th grader loves rinsing and they all love getting wet.
  4. Thank you!!!! You're exactly right, I don't see or understand the outrage here. He could have been walking to the mailbox or sitting in recliner, I'm a firm believer that when your number is up, it's up.
  5. I have shopped at one in Raleigh and I loved it. I got name brand board games like Trouble and Boggle for $5.00 each. They had Nintendo DS games and name brand covers and game storage for the DS too. Small Lego kits, all kinds of wrapping paper and bags. Cool place. I hope that they do very well.
  6. Me too, but in truth, 5th grader is indeed spoiled, but HE doesn't know it. He's not spoiled in that bratty, whiney way and he's very polite, caring and generous. But if he ever steps out of line we snatch him up and nip it in the bud. But, honestly, he drives the bus at our most of the time.
  7. You got that right! Been there, done that!
  8. On Design Star last night, a team painted the walls of a HUGE living room a dark, rich charcoal grey and had an accent wall in a watery, sky blue color and it looked really good.
  9. Good Lord, she is TOO cute!! Being an 'mature' Mom rocks!
  10. Agree 100%. If you invite, you pay.
  11. I would question the work of your dentist. Hubby has 3 crowns that he has had for more than 10 years and I have had two for about the same amount of time. I can't imagine having to pay for a replacement after 2 years, unless you were eating taffy for the entire time and that pulled it out.
  12. Do they think that people aren't going to know that 'food stamps' has been changed to SNAP? It seems like a huge waste of money for new signs, cards ads, etc., just to try and remove the stigma that seems to be attached to these benefits. I see people use these cards all the time and since I have no idea what their story is, I'm just glad that they are able to get food for their families. I realize that that isn't a popular sentiment these days, but once again, I don't know peoples situations and who am I to pass judgement on anyone? But call a spade a spade and keep all that wasted money in t
  13. Hubby and I both had heart scans at the Bill Carruth office and we were in and out in less than 40 minutes. We were the first 2 appointments so they weren't backed up, but I'd opt for closer to home and less wait. Every time I've ever had dealings with the office in front of Cobb, the wait time had been AWFUL. Good luck! Yea, thats huge, I didn't think about that.
  14. I found this from back in April **Spic & Span Cleaning** 404-844-9904 1cristinacouch@gmail.com ~call for quotes~ Heck, I try as hard as I can not to clean my own windows!!
  15. I have two friends who clean houses and minus the windows, they charge between $100.00-$150.00 depending on the size if the house. I think that there is at least 1 cleaning service that is a commerce member on here. I'm sure they could answer all your questions.
  16. Since 5th grader has been in school, he has never had penmanship lessons at all, except for what I have him do at home. How can a child be a successful student and adult when they don't know how to write the letters of the alphabet?
  17. Yes they did. IT IS!! Because you KNOW what is happening, again, you don't want to believe it and others are noticing too. It's disappointing and angering and sad and awful. Absolutely nothing good!
  18. I agree. And I will give my daughter and her Hubby credit, they did it, they didn't complain and they did a good job.
  19. According to the DDS website, 150 days before your license expires. Hubbys was at the end of July and mine at the end of August, so it worked out great for us.
  20. And you are correct once again! I love her, but GEEEZ, she makes us crazy. And the thing is, is that her using behavior is so distinctive and since we haven't seen it for over a year, it's slapping us in the face. BAAM!
  21. Shes not unable to do anything. She shops, travels, lunches with friends, has regular activities, goes to church, etc. Matriarch or not, you shouldn't expect anyone to do something in you're own home that you're not willing to do yourself, especially when you are perfectly capable of doing so.
