  1. I think you're correct. And it is sad.
  2. So, a politician was invited to a fundraiser of a candidate he is on good terms with, he gets there and the person who invited him, insists he leave the premises? To say that I'm confused is an understatement.
  3. This is an excellent post because we do things all the time for her and expect nothing in return, it's just what you do for family. Heck, we help non family members all the time. I think a big part of the problem is the history that we have with her behavior and the fact that we went a whole year with the old Meemaw and enjoyed her company, we let our guard down once again and we seem to be slipping into that same old hole again. But regardless of the familial relationship, taking advantage of someone is never OK, I think the dog pooh and car wash sent me over the edge and she's not dest
  4. Oh yea, his rose colored glasses came off a long time ago and he's not afraid to tell her like it is. Thats chapter 2 in this saga.
  5. Are you as worried about middle school as I am? Middle school was horrible when I was there and he's such a good little kid, funny, smart and super friendly. I can't stand the thought of someone being awful to him or bullying him, he wants to be everybody's friend and even now, he meets resistance. What do ya' do?!
  6. Thank you! I like all of them most of the time!!
  7. Thank you so much! He is so excited and he LOVES this job. They supply uniforms AND boots and since he wears a size 15 shoe, that is a very huge perk. He works every hour of OT they will let him, he's a really good guy.
  8. No one owes grandma any money or anything else. There is no debt to be repaid or accounts to be settled.
  9. Indeed!? And this isn't a new thing or and old person thing, it's pretty typical unfortunately.
  10. OMG!! You SOOOO hit the nail on the head. She has been clean for over a year since her last rehab stint and about 6 weeks ago we have been noticing the exact same behavior she exhibits when shes eating pain pills. No filter, manipulating people, etc. And we found out 2 weeks ago that she is now being treated for carpel tunnel syndrome. So we really think shes up to her old Tom Foolery again! And you're right, she knows whats up, shes in no way demented or that clueless. Thats funny!!!
  11. I think thats my whole problem with it, she saw an opportunity and used it to her advantage.
  12. I agree completely! I have no problem with her helping anyone, especially her grandmother, but to call and say,'I need you to come clean my house, I'll pay you', that's a different story. I just feel like that she knew their situation and took advantage of it. The funny thing is that when they got home, all of this came out very innocently. Hubby said, 'Hey, what did ya'll do at Meemaws' just in passing and they started telling him what they had done and he couldn't believe it. And luckily, SIL will get paid on Thursday, so the desperation for money won't be an issue anymore and maybe if
  13. Well, here's the story. My son-in-law has been out of work for 5 months until 3 weeks ago when he landed a great job with the city of Atlanta. He hasn't been paid yet, so when my mother-in-law, my daughters grandmother, called Thursday and said that she was having company and needed my daughter to come and clean her house, my daughter and her husband went, (he's off on Fridays). They were thinking bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, etc. The above is the list that they were met with. Being that it was her grandmother and they needed the money daughter and SIL took the list, executed it all
  14. I think you and I are on the same page. So, $50.00 wouldn't do? Just askin'.
  15. Woohoo!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Lets say you desperately need the money and it's s family member, so you trust that payment will be fair, what would be a fair charge for these services? All of them............... Blow off patio, front porch and inside of garage clean all dog poop out of garage spray weeds in front and side yard hang ferns wash car (REALLY)! plant tomato plants clean all baseboards clean every room vacuum dust clean ceiling fans polish wood surfaces clean glass surfaces with glass cleaner clean tubs and showers including shower doors, inside and out
  17. Yep, it's a goldy/brown color or at least it is on the paper copy.
  18. I am absolutely unprepared for the 5th grade walk. I cry every year anyway and none of those kids were mine!!!!! I could only hope! He has vowed that when he becomes a huge movie producer and is very rich, that he will take care of us and be happy about it, 'because you take care of me now'.
  19. Yes and it's very different form the old one.
  20. He is now 5th grader, not 4th grader. I'm sad! How can he be this old??!?!?!?!
  21. Do it ASAP! I think it starts July 1. It was a breeze and it certainly is a load off our minds. I think I'm still offended that I have had a license since I was 17, 32 years, and I still have to prove I'm a citizen! While it may be necessary, I don't have to like it.
  22. When I read about the new requirements for renewing a license after July 1, on P.com, Hubby and I decided to do it before then. Luckily, we were both in the 150 day window before expiration. We went to the Cartersville location and were in and out in less than 20 minutes. The reason it took that long is because the clerk couldn't read the dr's name and ID number on his CDL physical card and those things are required to renew a CDL. She let him call the clinic and get the info while we waited at the counter, entered to info as he called it out, printed his temporary copy and we were on our wa
