I wouldn't give anymore leeway to a girl than I would a boy. But circumstances are different for different people. I think 25 could be past time to get direction in your life depending on your situation. Do you have a college degree, have you been working for a long time, are you working toward a goal? My niece graduated college after 6 years of of playing at college, lives at home and her Mom and Dad pay for EVERYTHING she has, her car, ins, gas, clothing, entertainment, etc. She has NEVER held a job. Not in high school, college, over the summer and so on. Shes 24 years old, sleeps til 12 in

OMG!! I just read my post and I got the same thing, I think I'll edit and rephrase!!!!!

You are so right! Homophobic, heterosexual people put a little too much weight in their possible appeal to gays. Every gay man I know has pretty high standards and wouldn't dream of going against those standards to hit on a sub-par non gay man. Gay men like to look at my husband, he's a lineman and when he is all suited up in his boots, harness, body belt, hard hat and gloves, added to the fact that he's very handsome anyway, he looks like a member of the Village People!! They don't hit on him, but he's been whistled at more than a few times! What a hoot!!!

TOM CRUISE AND KATIE HOLMS DIVORCING AFTER 5 YEARS..........
dawneykids replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'd would have love to have been a fly on the wall to see what she has on ole Tom to make him settle so quickly. This 'marriage' was sketchy from the beginning. -
No, you're not the only one that feels this way. There have been at least 3 other cases of this same bacteria in GA at the same time she was first reported in the news and these men were a mere blurb on the news and we have heard nothing else about them. Like you, I feel for her and her family and it's a HORRIBLE thing to have happen to you. But I'm sorry, if she wasn't a beautiful, young, blue eyed blond, she would have just been a blurb too and that's just wrong to me, the other cases are no less important, newsworthy, or tragic. I'm putting on my helmet for the bashing too.

I think I'm going to do this tonite because the drama has gotten thicker today. This person came to my house for a confrontation and Hubby and I weren't home. Unfortunately for this person, my daughter was. Shes 25, very independent and vehemently opposed to anyone saying ANYTHING bad about her Dad. (Well, me too, but really her Dad). This person attempted to slam Hubby for the situation they had caused and my daughter blew a gasket. According to my other daughter it was not pretty at all. Now we're dealing with the fallout of my raising someone so disrespectful, which is not the case at all.

That is a very good question and this is what came to mind as an answer. I saw a documentary on PBS years ago about the man who wrote the song 'Amazing Grace'. He was an intolerant, bigoted, slave trader and an all around yukky guy. But because he was doing things 'the Lords way' in his own mind, he was justified in everything he was doing. I don't remember the reason, but he had an epiphany one day and did a 180 and changed his ways completely. I'm not sure you could do that if you were born intolerant. Go figure! I think that people are conditioned to intolerance. They see their parent

Hubby just said the same thing and I initially was very vehement in disagreeing, but then he explained just like you did, which sex they 'prefer' dictates who is their 'choice'.

You are right. When 5th grader was in 3rd grade, he came home one day repeating what some boys had told him about being gay. First, he asked what gay was and I tried to explain as generally as I could. The he relayed that all gays were going to Hell because they were against God, I almost drove off the road. I then explained about love and compassion, tolerance, judgement, etc. Then without naming names, I told him that he was very acquainted with 3 well adjusted gay men and asked him if he thought for one second that I would let him be around Godless, rotten, Hell bound human beings? He said

I don't feel like I need to go to church today after these few simple sentences. You could not have hit the nail on the head anymore squarely. God did not write the Bible, men did. Men who were trying to further their own agenda and masking it as the word of God. You'll never convince me that a gay person would choose that 'lifestyle'. The angst, turmoil and destruction it can cause would never be chosen by anyone. You are what you are and the lucky ones adjust and accept it and lead normal, decent lives. I'd much rather have a decent gay person in my life than a two faced, hypocritical, h

Dr. Leathers was wonderful when we had our old dog, Hanson, put to sleep a few weeks ago. We initially took him to be helped even though we knew it was no use. 3 days later when it was obvious what the outcome would be, we were able to stay with him while Dr.Leathers and his staff took care of him. They were kind and compassionate and we got a sympathy card in the mail a few days later from them. They made a terrible situation a little easier to deal with.

This really helped you feel better? We have a person in our lives that has tormented us because of their addiction for more than 10 years. Chance after chance, they go back to the same old thing and behaviors. 3 weeks ago, the crazy hallucinating messages and phone calls after a year of sobriety and more promises of 'never doing it again', started again. We haven't spoken to this person since and they are making us the bad guys. I think we need to go to this site, write everything we have ever wanted to say, throw it away and get on with our lives. I wish I'd known about this site before I

All Scranton, PA, Employees Cut to Minimum Wage
dawneykids replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Wow, can you imagine expecting a full paycheck, planning to pay your bills, go on vacation, etc and then getting a check for a 1/3 of what it's supposed to be? It's happened to my son-in-law and daughter and it's pretty scary. I wish them luck. -
All Scranton, PA, Employees Cut to Minimum Wage
dawneykids replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
With no warning? Does the mayor have the power to do that on his own? People who are poor can't survive on minimum wage, much less a worker who has a mortgage and is expecting a paycheck that is 3 or 4 times more than it is. -
You are correct!

I have three openly gay men in my life. The only prayers that will be going up where they are concerned is that 'straight' people should be as upstanding, decent, well adjusted, kind, giving and loyal as these men are.

I totally with you on this one and will be voting yes as well. But you are obviously more mature and level headed than I am, because I don't feel the need to justify the way I vote to anyone for any reason. EVER.
