Did you purchase the home or is it a rental? If it's a rental, the landlord should take care of these things. If I'm not mistaken a home has to be habitable in order to rent it out and no gas and no water don't fit that bill. If you purchased it, I'm sure that there will be recommendations and help coming from Pcommers. Congratulations on getting a new place to live and getting back on your feet!

Aside from problem I have with what these boys did and as horrible as it was, it's worse to me that the higher ups in the school system and local authorities tried to sweep it under the rug and cover it up. Maybe I'll see you there!! Hubby is working his hiney off and so is SIL and they are both cold and wet. I hate it for anyone who has to work outside. But of course, like I always tell Hubby, 'That's why you get the big bucks, baby'. Unfortunately, my SIL isn't so lucky with those 'big bucks'.

I have no recommendation except to go to expedia.com and type in your requirements including the proximity to the Conference center. You can also add the number of stars you prefer and the price point you are interested in. I've used expedia at least 25 times and only once have I ever had a complaint. Good luck.

I'm not bitter, old, nor a hag and I think you should stop for a funeral procession. Your rep is becoming tarnished, you realize that right!! You're a good guy!

I hope they're wrong because I feel bad for all the people who have to work outside, especially Hubby and my son-in-law. Also, I'd prefer that Hubby be home on Thanksgiving instead of repairing power lines. But if that's the case, I'm thankful that he has a job to go to everyday and we'll just celebrate another day.

Been there and had the same thing happen time and time again and it made me CRAZY. All the moaning came from my MIL, saying things like, 'You love grandpa more because you called him last week and you didn't call me', etc. After a year or so of thinking she'd stop and she didn't, Hubby told her to stop it, in no uncertain terms and luckily she did. It's so mean and selfish to bad mouth your former other half to kids and grandkids who had no control over circumstances. Grow up people.

Good for you and that is exactly what I was thinking. Maybe it was their mom, a neighbor or just a good hearted volunteer driving someone less fortunate. I know, I know.....people abuse the system, but the vehicle picking up donations doesn't always tell the real story.

This. I know it's not a popular idea, but it's true. The same thing happened to my MIL and in all honesty, she was NOT a good partner. After many, many years of bitterness and self pity, she finally admitted to me and Hubby that their marriage should have ended 10 years sooner than it did.
