Car Show at Crossroads Shopping Center 8/1/2009
just4me replied to GROUNDED's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thanks for the information. My 4 yo loves car shows and it is hard to find one that doesn't take place in the late afternoon/evening when he should be winding down for the night. -
Thank you for posting the link.

While you don't address it directly in your post, shampooing hair with baking soda is related to the "No 'Poo" movement. (No 'Poo = No Shampoo) I read about it not long ago on some news website. Try googling "No Poo Movement" and you will be surprised what you can find. Personally, I don't wash my son's hair with shampoo and he can go forever without needing to wash it due to oily build-up. (Dirt and sand are a different matter though.) I use Burt's Bee Baby Buttermilk Soap to wash his hair.

Okay, you asked... Years ago, I drove from Los Angeles to Atlanta, via Dallas (Texas) and New Orleans with two cats. Let's just say that one hated it and the other didn't like it very much. I did not sedate them, however, I did anchor them well into the car. Both cats wore harnesses (again, didn't like them much) and I used a leash to anchor the harness to the front grate of a large pet carrier. We got a large one so that both cats could huddle together. Wearing the harnesses, the cats could explore the car but not get loose when the doors were opened nor could they get to th

Who is the current owner of the old dragstrip property?

I miss the sound of the engines too. I wish they could/would reopen the property as a race track again. -
I have a genuine question concerning replica handbags

I've got my eye on a pair of Ariat mules. Saving my pennies! Got the Coach boots at Marshalls! Currently, my flip flops are Life is Good (again, Marshalls) but only because my "good" flip-flops by Merrell snapped on me. I'm planning on sending them back to the manufacturer to see if they will make good on them. Blowing out a $2 pair flip flop is no big deal but loosing a pair of $50 leather thong flip flops is a whole different ball of wax. -

I'm so with you on that. I spend most of my time in flip-flops but I'll shell out a pretty penny for a nice pair of boots. (Hmm...actually, the last pair of boots I bought were made by...hold your breath...COACH!!!) But on the other hand, I won'd spend more that $20 on a pair of shoes to wear to work and I'll wear them every day until they fall to pieces. -

Are you serious? It was started, and continues, so that women can discuss purses!!! Now, who wants to start a thread about shoes? -

Oh, you sure can. It is like there is a spot light on it! -

Maybe this is the difference...I never get tired of a purse. My purses are always in rotation, given my mood. Don't get me wrong. I love an inexpensive purse just like the next person. It is just that I have my go to the grocery store purses, go on vacation purses, my go to work purses, etc. I just don't work in an environment where my "Life is Good" drawstring purse is understood and appreciated by others. As another poster noted, everyone has their splurges. Purses (and boots) are my splurge. I don't drive a new car and feel just as comfortable running errands on the weekend -
I believe a new "super-speeder" law just went into effect. The $$ quoted may be for current tickets. If your husband received the ticket before the new law, it may be less $$. I hope you find the information that you need.

I've loved Coach bags since I bought my first one in college. Over the past 25 years, I've added a number of genuine leather Coach bags to my closet and one Dooney & Bourke that I JUST HAD TO HAVE. That being said, I purchased all of them with the mindset of having them forever. I'm just not into disposable purchases. I feel the same way about buying shoes/boots. I have purchased my last 2-3 Coach bags at consignment/thrift shops for less than $10-20 because people are cleaning out their closets to replace the fantastic leather bags for these fugly signature bags. Go figure. -
Ditto. Atkins Jewelry. Mr. Atkins is former (City of Marietta) law enforcement and takes the utmost security with your jewelry. When I needed to replace the crown on my engagement ring, he ordered the crown and called me when it came in. Only then would he allow me to bring him the diamond/ring so that he could replace the crown. He measured and graded the diamond before I left it. He kept it for approximately one hour and called me when it was done so I could come in and get it. It was all done on my lunch hour.

Pubby and Irish: You guys sound like my husband who edits video for a major network/website! He started out in the '80s with a 16 mm film camera and attended AFI as a cinematographer. But, he soon figured out that it was a heck of a lot nicer to sit in an edit suite than tote around a film or video camera. You can not imagine how happy he was when he finally hit a "terabyte" of external memory (because he cannot stand to actually erase any of his freelance jobs.) People come back months/years later and want to update their projects.

I'm so sorry to hear that this happened to you. A similar thing happened to my husband about 10 years ago when he stopped for gas. When he went to pay for his gas someone stole his messenger bag. We cancelled all the credit cards and he later went looking around the general area to see if he could find the bag, tossed by the thief. He searched behind a closed-up mall and found MANY pocket books but not his bag. Weeks went by and we finally got calls from people who found both his wallet and the bag. They were both found in the same apartment complex, in bushes and under a stair case.

At our house, playing in the sprinkler counts as a shower!! It is 4yo's favorite outdoor activity.

Places to stay in Tybee or Savannah
just4me replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
From the gossip I heard, Miley Cyrus, a/k/a Hannah Montana, is filming a movie at Tybee Island this summer. If this is true, everything down that way may be booked. I'm hoping to go down and stay with family in a couple of weeks and I hope things aren't crazy at the beach. -
Boy, I wish I could start my holiday early but it isn't looking like it.

The restored Strand Theater in Marietta is offering Movies for Munchkins on Wednesdays. The ticket prices are fairly reasonable. $5 for adults and $2 for kids. I don't know how much the drinks and/or snacks cost. http://www.earlsmithstrand.org/upcoming-ev...o=7&yr=2009

DH, DS and I are planning on staying with family in Marietta over the weekend in order to attend the parade, etc. We always park at the parking deck. It is one of the best secrets ever! LOL!

It is funny to find out such information... Personally, I've been bothered for a couple of years by a bad (absolutely crazy) driver during my morning commute. Nothing would stop or slow her down. She has passed me on a double yellow line. She has passed me in a center turning lane. I've also seen her pass a car in front of her (on the left) because the car stopped for a yield sign. She turned right directly in front of the car at the yield sign, cutting off the oncoming traffic. In the past I've mentioned her to my brother who is a civilian employee at a local law agency and he alw

Great idea having a Black Friday Sale! I can see where a lot of people could use a little pampering after the craziness of Thanksgiving/shopping.
