Parole board denies clemency for Troy Davis

I'm not fond of Ann Coulter either (AT ALL--she irritates the cr@p outta me), but that was a really well-written summation. Thanks for sharing it. -

I don't believe for even a millisecond that so many courts reviewed this case as carefully as they did and they ALL GOT IT WRONG. I would be the first to say that, if there was any REAL doubt, the person should NOT be put to death. I think those who have reviewed the FACTS of this case, again and again and AGAIN all reached the same conclusion: Troy Davis is guilty of the brutal murder of a public servant charged with keeping peace. The death penalty is a hard thing to reconcile. I would not want to be in the position to impose that sentence. But our courts allow it, and TD was -
Here's Chris: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btYifK7bpFc NOT my favorite music style, but this kid's got TALENT!!

Supreme Court rejects the stay. It's OVER. -
Here's Stacy's audition. Unfortunately, it's all chopped up and not as good as the original, but even so, WOW. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NHfpmlmDuU

He was something, wasn't he? I am rooting for him! I hope he can make it. He's talented, and he seems like a good guy. Success could be a tragedy for him though, if he's not completely committed to staying clean. Fingers crossed for him!

You must have been visiting the fridge when Stacey sang.

He said in all his years of doing this, hers was the BEST audition he'd EVER heard... She. Was. Awesome.

Stacey Francis brought me to tears. WOW.

I have been torn by this case, too. I've read up on it. And bottom line? I believe the evidence shows he shot a LE officer in the face, causing his death. I hate the whole "eye for an eye" mentality, except in clear cases of child abuse. But in this case? Two days ago I would have told you it is unfair, and the kind of nightmare any of us might face if we were wrongly accused. However, I do believe he did it. Absolutely. And yet...I still struggle with his sentence. I wish I could KNOW his guilt. I can't, and neither can anyone else. I believe the evidence shows -

Hopefully for no more than a couple of days before they end up in Styrofoam and cellophane on the shelves at Kroger.

You are exactly right! I started at the food court. Stopped at a table and ate a frito pie. Then I walked to the RIGHT, did the whole outside, then wove my way through all the internal aisles! That explains it! But YOU went the wrong way!

That's EXACTLY when I was there, too. Sorry I missed you!

We always wonder about it, too. It looks so completely out-of-place there. I passed by it Saturday going to Paulding Meadows, and wondered before I got to it if anyone had moved in yet...made a point to look when I drove by and NOPE, still empty. Not only does it not have any yard, but what little there might have been has been paved over and turned into some sort of parking lot. I think "compound" every time I drive by. I think it's just plain fugly, and in entirely the wrong place...

Me, either. We had SO MANY heroes that dreadful day.

It makes me a bit sad that NO ONE has anything to say. The people who were killed by a terrorist attack on 9/11/01 did one predictable thing: They went to work at the jobs where they were expected. Exactly like many of us do every day. Why would you not go to work? You had a family to feed and kids to love. I'm no radical, but I do get a bit twisted up when people say things that indicate they think this is all "just history." It's NOT JUST HISTORY. OBL was actively pursuing plots that would impact our "anniversary." And he was SPECIFICALLY focused on 9/11/2011. Why wo

It hurts to watch, but it's good to see. There are still people who want us all dead. How can we claim "intelligence" if we stubbornly won't learn from history? This piece on World News Tonight made me smile and brought me to tears. If you care to, watch the whole thing. Get to the end where they put the 9/11 kids pics up next to their dads who were lost that day. I cried. See here. We can't forget, and we need to know they still want that victory again, especially on this "big anniversary" date. I hope our intelligence is more intelligent than theirs is.

She just did her little "Dolly" routine. It was...I don't have words. It was disturbing. Who puts fake boobs/butt on a 4 year-old? To "win" a contest? Seems like Mama is pimping out her sweet girl. BARF. Thank goodness she's still young enough to be innocent.
-
Switch over to Toddlers and Tiaras. The mom tonight is dressing her 4 year-old as Dolly Parton, complete with butt and boob pads. Maybe it's the same little girl? ETA: It IS the same little girl. And her mom seems to be a REAL piece of work. She says little Maddie is "Picking up where she left off," as she was a pageant kid herself. The little girl is absolutely gorgeous as a non-enhanced 4 year-old. Ick. Anyway, they're on T&T right now.

Is anybody else watching Buried Treasure on Fox5?

I was watching! I enjoy the show. There's a 2nd episode on now, but I switched over to Toddlers and Tiaras. I like the train wreck factor.
