  1. I've enjoyed connecting with old HS friends on FB. For quite a few, chats have led to phone calls and plans to meet up when I'm in town (I'm from Texas, and many are still there). I've loved it for reconnecting.
  2. I* made grilled Greek burgers and served them on a mixed green salad with lettuce, artichoke hearts, sliced black olives, thin-sliced red onions, sliced yellow squash, sliced avocado, and sliced cucumber. Here's the recipe for the Greek burgers that topped the salad: * 1 pound ground turkey breast * 1 green onion chopped * 1/4 cup chopped tomato * 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese * 3/4 teaspoon dried dill * 1/2 teaspoon salt * 1/2 teaspoon pepper YUM!!
  3. Her precious innocence and angelic voice touched me so much. I am in tears. She's just the sweetest thing ever. I hope she isn't hurt by this. Such sweetness should be guarded by the toughest dogs in the yard. She needs hugs, not fame. What a sweetheart.
  4. And it CRACKED ME UP!! Maybe it's because I detest spiders, or maybe I just have a twisted sense of humor...maybe both...but I think it's FUNNY!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMVMzzWPDSk See? They really ARE dangerous!
  5. I use sharp edged sea shells in my plants. Not only do they keep the cats out, but they look much better than skewers!
  6. Best wishes, Mike. Thanks for the help you've given me.
  7. Congrats!!! I guessed boy, but I didn't post my guess. I have one girl and two boys; I disagree with EVERYONE who says boys are easier. My girl was and still IS a dream to raise. Those boys were and still ARE much, MUCH more work! So happy for you. Whether they're easier or not, boys are a a special gift to Moms. It's frightening and awesome at the same time when you let yourself think, "I'm raising a man. I want him to be a GOOD man."
  8. Shweet, TP!! I'll see the movie! Hope all is well with you!
  9. I feel really sad for Mr. TW. I fear this won't end well. And I think the worst part in that is that he's been set up as the "face of the homeless" getting a second chance. If/when he falls, he takes a whole bunch of people with him, and I don't mean his ex-wife and children. Sure, there's tons of pressure being the "face of the homeless." Media has made him that. And it looks to me like media has also set him up to fail. Sad sad sad.
  10. I'm watching, and it makes me very sad for everyone involved. The guy's an addict. STILL. And I think the most responsible person in all of this is his ex-wife, who, it seems to me, really wants to see him get help. His daughter wants her 15 minutes. I hope they're over soon.
  11. That was quite a speech. There was so much to appreciate in what he delivered.
  12. I'm watching on ABC. I wanted to watch. I'm finding it, so far...very ODD. VERY. ODD. ETA: It's not odd anymore. I appreciate what he's saying, very much.
  13. Stuffed bell peppers, Cesar salad, garlic toast.
  14. I just heard on the news that they have agreed NOT to picket the girl's funeral in exchange for air time, but that they still plan to picket the funerals of the other victims, including the judge. These folks are media whores. They disgust me. Link
  15. I tried to go in...I made it to I20, but decided to turn around and come back. What they are saying...only go out if ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY...is the best advice. It's nasty, and people are stupid. And one of the worst parts? If you drive out there, your windshield WILL get nasty from all of the spray coming up off the tires of other vehicles, AND...your wiper fluid will be frozen. So, you can't clean your windshield, and you're driving over ice, and there's stupid people on the road... It's best to just stay home unless it is ESSENTIAL that you go out.
  16. I laughed while watching coverage of the closing of the intersection at W. Peachtree and 10th street when the Target truck jackknifed in the intersection and another car had spun out and ended up caddy-whack in the same intersection...the news reporter was standing in the intersection, explaining that it was covered with 2" of ice and was completely impassible...as a truck drove behind him through the intersection. I also got a bit of a chuckle when the driver of a load of cattle headed to the slaughterhouse complained that the cows would die if he couldn't get moving...
  17. Not as pretty as it was on Sunday night, is it?
