  1. In an automatic tranny car, I always brake with my left foot. My reaction time to brake is much faster than lifting my right foot off the gas and moving it over. I just let my left foot hover over the brake pedal with my heel on the floor. (In traffic that is, not on the interstate on long trips.)
  2. Another of he/she/its multiple personalities has arisen to stir the liberal cesspool. This one ain't right, either.
  3. If the place which did the damage is a franchise or part of a chain, I can promise you they have "garage keeper's" insurance. Or should. That insurance covers their employees while driving your vehicle on or off their property and against any damage incurred while the vehicle is in their care. When I owned a national glass franchise, the franchisor required me to have that coverage. It ain't cheap, let me tell ya. Independent shops may or may not know about such coverage. But any "chain" should have such coverage, and that is what you should be attacking for reimbursement for damages.
  4. Actually, if they have garage-keepers' insurance or general liability, you can file against their insurance for lost wages. They aren't about to tell you they have this coverage, because their premiums will go up if they have a claim. Probably they fixed your truck out of pocket because it was less $$ than the deductible on the insurance. I'd be giving them one more call before I called my favorite attorney.
  5. HER? Not from what I've heard about ZC's true identity.
  6. Unless, of course, you have a play-for-pay transaction in mind. I don't know any more about this than any of you do, but something makes me think that the "victim" in all this ain't exactly innocent. Not knowing what the CL ad said (or if it is still up), we don't know what post she allegedly answered. Just out of curiosity, I looked at "gigs" and searched for bartenders to see what kinds of "jobs" there were posted. A couple were for topless bartenders and topless servers for private parties and others that certainly looked to be somewhat risque in their requirements. Now, I'
  7. In other words, folks, it was former member's alter-ego.
  8. The Va Tech (?) lacrosse team comes to mind.
  9. Maybe I'm a cynic... BUT, anyone who plotted an attack like this sure was either stupid (or wanted to get caught) to lure someone to his OWN HOME to do this. If he was gonna rape someone, why would he not want to do it somewhere that he had an even chance to get away? Not at your own damn house... Not gonna line up the firing squad just yet on this one. He may very well be as guilty as sin, but OTH, the alleged victim may have made up a bunch of charges after a seduction went astray and the job offer wasn't made or enough money offered.
  10. About 90 days or so ago, we upgraded our DTV service to the "Genie". BIG mistake. I have had to reboot the entire receiver system at least every 3 days and the "client" receiver in the bedroom has been replaced once and has been rebooted countless times. When it works, it is fabulous. But........They finally admitted there is a software problem that causes the equipment to go down, and, in our case, it is invariably just before I want to watch something that is important to me. If you have DTV or are thinking about it, be darn sure you get the "protection" plan to cover all this o
  11. We listed my MIL's house on a Tues at 4:30 pm. Had a full-price offer at 8:30 the following Friday. Two and a half days on the market and it was shown 10 or 12 times. OTH, there is a house on our street that has been for sale since before Thanksgiving.
  12. What is it doing? Or not doing? It would be helpful to know what area are you having problems? Monitor, keyboard, mouse, connectivity, what?
  13. Ya know? I've had you on "ignore" almost forever. Don't like your political comments. BUT, I agree with you that sexual behavior (no matter the orientation) is a CHOICE. Having an orientation does not automatically confer permission to act upon that desire. Whether the restraint is scriptural, legal, or imposed by one's mate, the fact remains that some things are off limits. I do disagree with you about the pedophilia allegation. In my limited Scouting experience, the leaders were parents of boys in the troop. Doesn't mean that a married guy couldn't be a pedophile. But I th
  14. I don't think that is for you to determine. The absolute fact is only known between "Rhett" and Jesus. Of course, you are free to speculate and continue to add more manure to the compost heap.
  15. Why don't you have Rhett Butler come by and have a REAL man-to-man with him?
  16. Rule #62. Don't take yourself so seriously. You are all twisted up over some troll. The whole topic is ignorant and there are 3 or 4 of you that are on a mission to lynch some ignoramus. I've had him on ignore almost as long as I have had The Postman's drivel on ignore.
  17. Well. almost. So, what's your point?
  18. Well, no, not really. If he ain't here, all your verbiage is falling on deaf ears. It's called trolling.
  19. The made up word "homophobia" is based on "xxxxxxphobia" meaning a FEAR of something. More made-up politically correct bull to attempt to shame heterosexuals into acceptance of an activity. I've never seen a queer I'm afraid of. Disgusted by them, yes.
  20. I was a Boy Scout when I was in grade school. I know things have changed over the last few decades, but playing with some other kid's pee-pee was the last thing any of us were interested at Scout camp. It was more like putting a garter snake in somebody's bunk. I have to wonder what 8 to 12 year old even has any sexual predilections anyhow, beyond the pre-pubescent "I'll show you mine if you'll show me your's" curiosity? Personally, I'd be a hell of a lot more concerned about the adult leaders than I ever would be about what some kids might do in the privacy of their pup-tent.
  21. I'm not going to believe anything about Fred's closing until I see a chart.
  22. Short answer. No. Bell South used to provide a modem/router combo. You need a modem and a router, unless you have a combo unit.
