Very classy, Dana.

While I reluctantly agree that Interstate access is not mandatory for business expansion, it is certainly something that any business owner would review in his decision making. The travel time through a congested county with only one two-lane highway going N-S is part of his manufacturing and delivery costs. That 18 wheeler creeping through Paulding County on Hwy 92 isn't making him much money. He's paying extra fuel and hourly rates for that driver. All other things being equal, easy access tips the deal. Rental or land sale rates will have to be significantly lower to offset the two-

How, pray tell, do you think you could accomplish that? I'm not really sure how to go about moving an entire county 15 or 20 miles. Probably would piss off some folks in Cobb or Douglas counties if we just plopped ol' Paulding County down right on top of them. Oh, and good luck getting I- 485 (the outer belt) back on the table for discussion.

I bet he's a Sooner football fan.

You must drive up and down E. Paulding Dr. daily, eh? What? please refresh my memory? I can't think of a single Interstate highway in Paulding, anywhere?

Well, geography is one of the problems. There's no immediate Interstate access or good rail access. Large industries are not going to fight the transportation issues to get materials in and products out. And an airport ain't gonna cut it. To attract industries/employers that hire in the many hundreds rather than in the dozens, there are hurdles that even Superman couldn't jump over. Big plants mean years of approval processes by EPA and Interior and Labor beyond what the State regs are, not to mention the total ineptitude of Paulding's own commissioners and bureaucrats. GA i

Fear not. Al and Jesse are en route to the scene. They'll play their favorite card and a puppet prosecutor will indict Boeing for not having enough minorities employed in the design of the aircraft. -

Thanks. I've had my nose glued to the tube, watching re-runs of the Zimmerman trial. It's just SO facinating. Didn't have time to watch any other news. -

Why don't you and Eddie go have a few beers and solve ALL the world's problems? I'm sure your collective insight would be enlightening....NOT! The full moon was last weekend. Where are all the crazies coming from? Did the fireworks wake up all the trolls from under the bridges? -

Funny!!! Question? Any mention of any terroristic acts in this? Like a surface to-air missile in the wrong hands? Given the events in the ME in the past few days, nothing would surprise me. -

Or maybe it's because they aren't graduates of the nations' first and BEST School of Journalism located in Walter Williams Hall on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia. Wink, wink. -
Statutory Crime (Cognizable) Seems Less Important

Why, yes. Yes it does. Go to the top right of the page, where you see your screen name. Click on the down arrow, and the bottom option is manage ignored users. Click there, and there is a box to add whatever user's names you want. Unfortunately, if someone else replies to (and quotes from) a post from one of your ignored users, you will see the drivel, anyway. You can also block PM's from people, too. -
Should "Jerks" Be Allowed To Run Businesses?

And amnesty for illegals is gonna fix all that, too. -
I betcha the people in the Embassy in Benghazi would have been real happy to hear fireworks at 12:30 instead of firearms. At least when we hear things go boom, we are fairly confident that someone, somewhere is celebrating his freedom.

"Knock, knock" "Who's there?" "Emerson". "Emerson who?" (scroll down) "Emersom big ol' knockers."

Oh, he's there. Maybe not every day, but he's there.

I agree with you about the self checkouts. The HD store in Hiram is awful. I heard Lowe's is gonna build on the spot where Freds' used to be. But they have a tunnel to finish or sumthin'.

Should "Jerks" Be Allowed To Run Businesses?

Really, now? Your topic suggesting that there should be some (paraphrased) "standards for the attitudes and behaviors of people who have businesses" (/paraphrase) is not domineering and controlling, but anyone who calls you on your BS is? I think we have a classic case of a double standard here. And I'd wager a large sum of money that those who have left this site haven't done so because of "discussion", rather they have left because of the nonsensical drunken ramblings of one individual and a couple of political trolls. I'm just guessing now, but it would seem that someone at -

On the other hand, when I owned an auto glass company, we routinely re-glued people's rear view mirrors to their windshields for free. That simple act which took only a few minutes, brought lots of referrals and repeat business. -

May I politely suggest you "think" about something else? You were obviously absent the week your 9th grade civics class studied capitalism and free enterprise. The odds are pretty high that you've never had to meet a payroll and operate a business. This world is not all butterflies and unicorns. Just what this country needs, more "feel good" rules and regulations based on absolutely NOTHING except some utopian ideal. If you don't like the way a businessman operates his business, then go somewhere else. Just like if you don't like the way your boss treats you, go somewhere el -
As one with nearly 30 years of experience in breeding and showing dogs, I've had experience with more than a few vets over the years. If one of my dogs needed surgery, I promise you that NOBODY would ever touch them except Dr. Ricky Poe at E.Paulding Animal Hospital. I think there are 5 vets on staff there, all of them are top-notch.
