In defense (sort of) of Detroit and other big cities, they are under the unfunded mandates of both State and Federal requirements. If it comes from either LPPT or TP, the chances are 99 out of 100 that the post' s content is nonsense. Nothing either of those two have to say is worth the effort it takes to click on it, as far as I am concerned. I'm sure there are those around here whose next breath is just hanging on the next piece of "wisdom" from them, but "Ignore" works just fine for me. Both of them have lost all credibility, I don't understand why would anyone care what they say or bother to read any link they post?

I don't disagree with a thing you said, except about a group of belligerent posters focused on Pubby in an attempt to harm p.com. I think some of those "attacks" are more replies to some goading by Pubby. Sometimes I wonder if he doesn't deliberately "chum the hole" with a flagrant statement just to get a rise out of someone. Sometime in the future, when our illustrious leader begins a post-mortem on what happened to his once successful website, maybe he will realize that letting drunks and the intellectually handicapped play on his corner of the internet wasn't such a good idea.
