Where I am currently at the economy is GREAT...BUT that is only because of the Navy base..If this base was ever closed the town would FAIL fast. Most of the people around me are military or retired military that are now Contractors or GS.....I call the base NAS Civilian because it is probably 7 civilians to 4 Military. Most of the Civilians are VETS. Jobs are fairly easy to get especially if you are a VET. I stayed at home with the kids for 10 years and had no problem getting a job that paid well. I used to be the CO Secretary..A Navy Captain for those who don't know what that means. I did his schedule, he would tell me his likes and dislikes, he could also go in there and change his own schedule...For instance if his flight (he is a pilot) was changed or one added....My point...Unless you are staring at it 24/7 things can change. When I was doing a search I didn't see many jobs on base in Pensacola, I think they are more at Elgin and the other Airforce bases. Try looking a the Airforce base MacDILL at Tampa...That would be an awesome place to live/work.

Did you hear about all of the flooding down there last week? From what I was told Pace has the best school district, but it is like Dallas you have to drive an hour to get to the base. Why oh why is it always a bad area right outside the gate? Sigh............. Do you know if they have base housing there? Lincoln didn't list any when you go on their website.

Good for you! I would just ask them about their family etc tell them about yourself. Ask if there is anything they need..If you want to send carepkgs. Find out birthdays and send cards for holidays.

My daughter is attending STAR BASE Camp next week. That is what they will call her at camp. A call sign is what Naval Avaitors go by instead of their real names. Give me some ideas please.
