I hope you are just talking about local govt. I switched jobs recently and now work with mostly civilian GS. They are overworked stressed and I really don't get where people say such things about them. I read it all of the time on PCOM putting down DC and GOVT workers. Now I cant speak for the offices in DC but on the NAVY base south of town they work HARD...Non stop all day. They even run out for lunch bring it back and eat at their desks. Nothing wrong with VENTING and asking a question. Comments like this IMO is what makes posters like her not post much.

I got a better one for you. I work for the DOD and I am supposed to get the duty driver to drive me around when it is offical business...Know what I do? I just hop in my own vehicle and go. I like it when I have cops as neighbors and they park their cars. Helps me feel safer.

I had to make a connecting flight last week in Detroit to fly to Buffalo. What a nice airport. It is about 20-30 miles if I remember right to the actual town of Detroit. It was clean and a nice selection of restaurants. They even had a hotel right in the terminal if needed for a fair rate. Less than $100 a night GOVT. Nice USO for the troops where you could even lay down in a bed! I highly recommend if you fly and need a connecting flight to go to Detroit over any of the NYC airports. It is a 2003 so yes it is more than 5 years old. When I go back to GA I am def getting a smaller car that gets better gas mileage. I agree I don't like it either...It also came with the sticker attached to it...UHHHHH

I just renewed my car tag thru the mail since I am currently out of state. I just got it in the mail and instead of sending me a sticker to put on my old license plate they sent me a new one. Did everyone get a new tag this year? I like the old one better and it blended and kinda looks like the MD tag. This one makes me stick out. Of course with the large military community there are many out of state tags in the area...but still.

Need some info about Eagles Landing. Not sure if it is in McDonough or Stockbridge. Very interested in buying a house there. I have this recipe baking in the oven right now. It is so good. UPSIDE DOWN PEACH CAKE 1 can sliced peaches 1pkg 3oz strawberry jello 1pkg 3oz peach jello 1/3 cup butter yello cake mix Arrange peaches(drained) in a buttered 13x9 pan. Combine jello in a bowl. Sprinkle about 3/4 of the mixture over peaches and dot with butter. Prepare cake mix as directed. Pour 3/4 of the batter into pan. Stir remaining jello into cake batter. ZigZag spatula through batter to marble. Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes. Cool 5 minutes in pan then invert onto serving platter and cool.

I think it just depends on where you are located. I don't see it at all where I am. I went to Boston for the 4th and both planes were almost empty. Going and coming back. I don't see how people can afford to live in Boston, very expensive...$220 a night for a hotel room but Chinese food for a family of 4 was only 40 bucks, so that helped ease the cost of the hotel. All I can say, if the jobs are gone, time to move on to where they are.

I feel like when you are age 18-22 you need to be in college..If not you need to be in the military. At the company I interviewed with...They actually give the employees 500-1000 if you recommend a employee that they end up hiring. It was listed as one of the company benefits.

Because I am in Base Housing...But don't get tooooo jelious...They take over 1850 a month for rent But this also covers, electric, gas, water and trash/recycling pickup and the landscaper who cuts the grass in the front yard. I also get to use the pool that others in the hood pay HOA fees for.
