  1. Foreign aid buys influence and concessions. It is far cheaper than other, more active means.
  2. Austerity. This is what the spending cuts in American entitlements look like. These are real people looking for real jobs and they have real needs. The US system now says there is no more safety net for them.
  3. This shows, again, you are all about politics. The "newer order" is not a political one but a new economic reality, e.g., that the last 70 years of the American Baby Boom is no longer the norm. The new system is that the United States economy is now a matured economy, and will now function like the rest of the old world economies. The American system is no longer a growing population, with the rest of the world being its marketplace. Now, America is the marketplace for goods produced elsewhere, and the population in America is aging; American demographics has changed. That is NOT political
  4. This shows your politics has coloured your thinking in this regard. The American economy is now a matured, old world system. The system of the American Baby Boomers is over. You are confusing the bubble with normalcy. What the United States is experiencing now is what can be expected in the newer order.
  5. Yes, and the article was about those layoffs being in the banking industry, just as the American based JP Morgan did when it cut staff specifically after the mortgage mess in the United States was stabilized. The people were temporary.
  6. Not correct. It is of little consequence to me whom is elected to the American position. In fact, remember, I said that I believed Romney would be a better choice for the United States. So the claim I'm a supporter of your president is quite inaccurate. You are also confusing the American economic boom from WW2 until 2007 as normal. Not true. That was a Baby Boom Bubble that bust and what you're experiencing now is a normal market like the rest of the world has had.
  7. This would be an option. Link please.
  8. And those retail sales are now up from then, not down, The recovery is still going along, just as I said the "plow horse" economy was doing. Here is my post in this thread. My link Notice how different my view was compared to the Doom and Gloomers. You're the biased one in this discussion because you're letting your politics colour the discussion. Notice the usual taunt you continue to launch. So what was the point of bumping up an almost year old thread? Just so you could be your usual crabby and argumentative self? Also notice that I haven't retaliated.
  9. Accredited. The liberal arts program is good. The BSN program is known for excellence. If she wants a smaller school with a city experience, AA is a good school. It just depends on what she is looking for. She needs to visit several schools. She will then know where she should be. It is just something she will know.
  10. My calendar is full until mid April. Unless it is a Saturday night as I'm less likely to schedule a work event for a Saturday as most of my staff/managers don't like to do things on a weekend.
  11. Let's get a date settled. Then we can do a private message.
  12. Warren Buffett buys Heinz for 28$ Billion. My link And I thought the economy was on the verge of a recession in June 2012? My link Who was right about that? Hmmm?

    Bruno mars

I agree. A phenomenal performer. I did think Glee's version of Marry Me was a bit better but he is quite talented.
  14. If it is at all possible, let's do this. My schedule is quite precarious and there are some life events right now that take me away on a moment's notice but a night would be fabulous. What would be a good local place to have a dinner with such a crowd?
  15. Maybe we all ought to go one night?
  16. Thank you! My husband and a few of the families from his work decided to make a night of it. He usually goes with me and so when his work associates decided to go out, we both knew not to resist the opportunity. That also means tomorrow I shall have to work late to make up for working only 10 hours today instead of the normal 12. And I missed my evening gym session. Hope you're doing well! Early meeting. 7AM. Don't be late!
  17. What was this? In June 2012 some insisted a recession was imminent. How is that false prophet stigma coming? Gosh. Who looks to know what she was talking about after reviewing all this? Hmmm. I wonder.
  18. Agree, completely! Anything over medium rare destroys the food. The wonderful thing about Wagyu beef is that it can ONLY be served rare-medium rare because it (literally) melts away after that.
  19. It is happen frequently, though rarely broadcast. I've posted about it before. My link
  20. All this over a post about Capital Bar and Grille? It was good, as usual. The Wagyu beef is very good, if it is the "genuine" stuff from Japan. I've had the Australian version and it is very good. The American version leaves much to be desired. It really is the best in the world. We had some Wagyu beef Valentines Weekend at Victoria and Albert's at our youngest lad's futbal tournament in Orlando, one of the finest meals one shall ever partake. While the wine pairings were better at Victoria and Albert's, the beef at Capital Bar and Grille was no less wonderful. The wine pairing a
  21. OMG. Leaving Capital Grille now. Had Wagyu beef. Served chilled. OMg. Amazing! There is reason why its the best steak in the world. It is!
  22. Tonight my husband and I are going to Capital Grille.
  23. Why is it all politics to you? The economy has been in a normal recovery mode coming of something as severe as the Great Recession, a once in a generation event. Why do you want the economy to be failing? I don't understand how your people can be so excited about poor piece of information.
