  1. This has been news all over the world. The young lass was certainly taken advantage of in a criminal way. Bless her. Whatever happens to the lads who did that to her is of no consequence to me. They should be given the harshest sentence the American courts allow and then the court of public opinion should continue the sentence past their juvenile years.
  2. Drink some wine and just get through the night. Bright blessings for tomorrow!
  3. I'm fully supporting you! There are many cessation programs available locally. Contact your primary care physician practice and they shall place you in touch with proper support immediately. You can manage this!
  4. The "wine" thread caused me to think of some low cost wines that one might be able to store for a reasonable time before consumption. One I've tried recently that is not terrible is the Gallo wine (don't let that sercret out) name Apothic Red.. It's flavor is not nearly as smooth as a say a $30 pinot noir (a basic starting price for a decent American pinot) but it is a semi-full flavor, somewhere past the Syrah but not at the Malbec or Merlot stage. The blend is tolerable if you can handle the strong vanilla chorus it displays at first sip. The alcohol content is 13% so too much and the next
  5. My husband and I have spent most of the waking hours since Thursday afternoon until just a few moments ago doing the seasonal cleaning. Windows washed. Draperies cleaned. Floors and side boards shined. All water closets in the best of conditions. The interior is the best it's been since this moment last year. There is still much to do but I'm going to land headlong onto that project this week. And now, the chicken is grilled. The vegetables are grilled. The wine is poured (a very nice 2006 Ribbon Springs we've had in the cellar for nearly 6 years My link) A proper cleaning. The world i
  6. I've noticed several adverts this weekend. Please. If you smoke, please stop. If you've already stopped, congratulations! Smoking is the leading health menace everyone faces. I see it first hand each and every day. We're all supporting you to stop the habit.
  7. The United States has now passed Italy and France as the world's leading wine market. Moreover, the wineries in the US have exponentially grown and the production is now viewed as some of the world's best. My link
  8. Let's hope there is enough honour left and the legal representation is not voided for the least among you.
  9. At age 6, And he knows already. My link
  10. Retail sales figures don't include consumer petrol purchases at the core number, and the core number was up significantly.
  11. Fifty years ago the American Supreme Court ruled that people have a right to a barrister to represent them even if the person cannot afford to pay for the representation. Now, with austerity, many wonder if the US system is still available to the poorest in the nation. My link
  12. Congrats! Bright blessings on you all and the move!
  13. A woman in BC sold her husband's belongings at yard sale and advertised it on social media that since he was "off with his floozie" she was going to rid the house of his things. My link
  14. Jobless claims in the United States have fallen for three consecutive weeks and are the lowest pace since January 2008. And with that good news that brings down unemployment in America, the other side of the teeter-totter shows signs of emerging, e.g., inflation, as wholesale prices rise. My link
  15. A new study from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that Americans are more distracted while driving than Europeans. More Americans use their mobile than do Europeans. Also, Americans believe they are better suited to multi-tasking. My link
  16. Just like 2013 January My link, retail sales are up again. In fact, retail sales were up 4.6% over 2012 February. It is the most it has been up in five months and shows the consumer in the United States is adjusting well to higher petrol and the rollback of the payroll holiday. My link
  17. Again, another assumption on your part. We have one shipment here and the other to our primary residence. The one shipped here is kept at a private cellar for several of us who spend holiday here.
  18. Sorry for the double post. Using the touch pad and didn't shut it down properly. Mea culpa.
  19. Holiday is over. A few days to do some seasonal cleaning and then back to the salt mines next week.
  20. Holiday is over. A few days to do some seasonal cleaning and then back to the salt mines next week.
  21. Let's see. Some logic here. Largest segment of American population is the Baby Boom generation. Thus it only stands to reason that most doctors are Baby Boomers. The Baby Boomers are retiring at a rate of 10,000 per day. Most people over 50 slow down a bit if they can afford it, and most doctors are able to show down. As they doctors retire, there will be a shortage as there are still many people who need medical care. That's not political but the way of demographics. It is too easy to see politics in everything.
  22. Again, huge assumptions on your part. Off to an excursion!
  23. Who said anything about it being shipped to the US state of Georgia? My husband and I are at our second home right now on holiday. The shipments have a LONG way to go from the US states of Oregon and California!
  24. If there is a problem of someone making assumptions, it is on their part. It shouldn't matter one way or the other.
  25. I've never claimed where my citizenship resides. Nor do I chose to even answer since it really is none of anyone's business.
