  1. Yes, when things "GAPPEN", remorse occasionally follows.
  2. There's also Burnham Cremation Services Berry Funeral Home
  3. So now the old guy says that it's going to be five more months before the world comes to an end. Anybody who follows this guy deserves what he gets, IMO. Let's see if anyone is foolish enough to buy billboard space for the October non-event!
  4. For what it's worth, I find it fascinating to get insight into the way that other people live their lives. What interests me is the underlying life-philosophy in terms of quality of life. There seems to be value in the frugality experience, where the frugal couple finds enjoyment in not spending money. The enjoyment of the achievement, in terms of the pride of working together is at least equal to the enjoyment that they would have received from the enjoyment of the creature-comforts that cost money. How far off am I?
  5. You got picked up by jesus? THE jesus, or just -- hay-soos?
  6. To Harold Camping (old preacher) - Here's your sign!
  7. The guy is crazy. He needs some major help before being released again on society!
  8. Excellent Pics, Whitey! You always have the best looking garden! Thanks for sharing the pics!
  9. Yes - Subby! Rose-Colored Glasses!! That's an awesome one! I like this one, too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kF95kKQpfvU
  10. Less than .50 a day? I don't think that's possible. ETA - by that, I mean that there must be a mistake in your billing.
  11. You're right about Waylon's Outlaw status. Remember though, that while anti-establishment, Waylong was not a traditionalist. He clearly communicates that in his song, "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way?" Waylon got tired of hearing "That's not the way that Hank (Williams) would have done it!" "I've seen the world with a five piece band - Looking at the back side of me/ Singing MY songs and one of his now and then and I don't think Hank done 'em this way- naw! No, I don't think Hank done 'em this way!" He's saying that country music has evolved past, "Your Cheatin' Heart", Nudie Su
  12. I think that "Seminole Wind" is a great country song. Sure "Swingin'" was a gimmick-success of a pop variety, but the elements of country, are still there. There's a slice of country life, "rolling up a garden hose/cutting chicken up to fry", swingin' on the front porch -- that's still country, IMO. How surprised I'd be if Taylor Swift were to sing about "sitting on a sofa, eating chocolate pie"!
  13. There's a real problem in country music today with the disparity between the authentic and the fanciful. See, real people what to hear about real life - That's what country music is. It has morphed into an abomination of music video that invariably shows the female country music star rolling about, half-clothed, while the camera circles about the bed. The male stars have been castrated and metrosexualed to the point of inducing mass gag reflexes! Both sexes have been overshadowed by the REAL star of the modern-day country music set - amplification. If it's an instrument that c
  14. Here are two people who don't get enough recognition IMO for their contribution to country music - Emmylou Harris and John Anderson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1dQJO_odGg And before Nazareth recorded "Love Hurts" - There was Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj8qnzwHUwo&feature=related
  15. Now you're talking! Merle Haggard is among the best-ever songwriter/performers in country music. Another favorite of mine is Keith Whitley (who, posthumously, with his widow, Lorrie Morgan had the hit "Til A Tear Becomes A Rose") Whitley had recorded a demo as a single, which was released as a duet with Ms. Morgan's voice dubbed in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo1DG7id3ag Whitley had several hits and was regarded as one of the great talents in country music ---- But in one of the real injustices in country music, Keith Whitley isn't in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Before A
  16. The owner should be reported. It's my understanding that employees still have to be paid minimum wage, even if part of the compensation is tips. An owner can't just put up a tip cup and pay his employees $2 an hour!
  17. If a place providing the same service and the same level of service -- but that place charges more than twice as much -- why should their tip be any bigger? Said differently, why should a place be rewarded for overcharging you?
  18. I used to follow professional sports. It used to be that a professional athlete would stay with the team for most of his career and live in the city where he played. He would be a part of the city and in that way, the city could claim him and all of the rest of the team members as their own. From year to year, you knew that Hank Aaron and Joe Torre would power the Braves. You knew that [Falcon and great Atlanta citizen] Tommy Nobis would be the Falcons' Middle Linebacker and knock the head off any guy coming up the middle! He was "ours". "The Implication" was that the team
  19. What in the world does this have to do with penis envy???? It shines a light on the subject? Please elaborate.
  20. I'm with ya about West Metro - The best meat anywhere! Oh, yeah - dinner - I suppose I'll go out for Chinese or sumpin'
