  1. He used to come around these parts regularly. He'd come and visit old friends, even those who were down on their luck. Sorry to see Jerry go. here's a link to the "Dead People's Server". It provides notices of celebrities who have passed. http://www.dpsinfo.com/dps/2008.html#latest
  2. Thank you so much for sharing this personal experience. I wasn't there when my parents passed (one of them suddenly), but now I wish that I had been provided with that opportunity. What more closeness can a person feel, than to be present at the time of passing and to relish the moments of clarity leading up to that time? And what greater satisfaction can the person who is passing feel, than to have his loving daughter by his side? I imagine that it made the "letting go" a bit easier on both of you. Thanks again for sharing this intimate part of your life. It was refreshing and insightf
  3. The person should have stopped on a Hwy and -- what? Really, what should a person do after hitting any animal on a highway? It seems like the responsible thing would be to call authorities about the situation, as opposed to getting out of your vehicle yourself. It could be a stray, with rabies -- you just don't know. It just doesn't seem like the safe thing to do, attempting to render aid yourself.....
  4. You're right. Now might be the proper time for all of us to do a check on our own houses and under what conditions guns and ammunition are stored. It's also a good idea to speak to kids about gun safety. It might not do any good, but then again -- it might. I NEVER told anyone before about when I was a kid and I was -- playing with a real gun. I knew better, but the gun was empty, right? A little voice -- probably from my parents warning me -- told me to check for a shell in the chamber. A live shell popped out. If my parents hadn't warned me and if a friend had come to visit on a
  5. I think that it's a positive quality, BDUB. Yeah, people rubber-neck at accident scenes and they gather around any situation where there's gore. When I was in college, a professor had a heart attack on the school tennis courts. Some people gathered around out of concern and curiosity, as you say. But two or three courts down from where paramedics were shocking the professor back to life, a tennis match continued. I vote for concern.
  6. So -- that means you gotta come back, right? I hope that it turns out okay, too -- But these things rarely do....
  7. Police are using dogs to follow the trail of any bleeding females in the trailer park. Reportedly one of the dogs told his handler: "You get down here and smell this!"
  8. We may see this on COPS! Females fighting at a trailer park!!! Bad girls, Bad Girls - Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you? They're looking for a blue ford ranger? Does anyone else here drive a blue ford ranger?
  9. It was on Monday that Willadean Solie, of Carroll County, passed. The funeral was yesterday. She had struggled for years with substance issues. Those issues reached a conclusion, I understand, in a vehicle accident and were unfortunately related. I did not know her well, but like everyone - there were those who loved her and will miss her.

  11. It's terrible news for the family and for the community. It's truly saddening to see quality people, contributing so much to our society (nothing more important than good teachers, especially in middle school) taken early. My condolences to all, because it's a common loss.
  12. The owner of Fuzzies, Mike Cawthon, passed away yesterday from a heart attack. Memorial services are being planned. An exceptional athlete and businessman, Fuzzy brought a smile to many faces and will be missed. I personally only met him once and it was if we had known each other for all of our lives. He was that kind of guy.
