    ... that is a lot of work! and here I sit trying to figure out which frozen meal will be heated for dinner .... I'm not hungry and way too tired to even consider cooking
  2. sounds so good! yum ... love to hear the recipe! oh my ... sounds good too! You made me tired, but I know it is worth it during the winter .... I just pulled my basil for the freezer/pesto ... but you do exhaust me!

  4. What have you had or what are you having?? I missed last night so I'm asking .... We are having: Beef Veggie Soup with lots of noodles, cheese on the side. Stuffed pastries with garlic, cheese & spinach Fresh Blackberries & Lemon cake with a topping of whipped cream What did you have/what are you having?

  11. I tend to remember the rule - if you won't drink it, don't use it. I tend to cook more with reds than whites, so I can't help too much in that area - but I usually like a chenin blanc to drink and if I need some white for a recipe, that is what I use.

  15. I don't have any for you tomorrow, but am working through my "stash" of Southern Living / Better Homes & Gardens -- may not be completely in tact, but might be ok Please post if you want them in the future and I'll save them for you, or into the recycling they will go

  18. crushed fennel seeds is another addition to think about I start with browned beef & onions, add some finely minced garlic just prior to tomatoes/paste/spices .... simmer for a bit. I do mine more in the crockpot than stove top - so sorry for not more specifics - but you get the idea bay leaves, basil and parsley are great additions to a stove top version, mushrooms (fresh for stove, canned for crockpot) another thing to thing about. I will add bay leaves & basil (dried) to crockpot too. For crockpot, I think about the whole tomatoes crushed or stewed for additional flavo
