The shelter won't be able to feed the animals there with this donation, but they can definitely give it out to anyone struggling to feed their pets and having to make a decision to turn them in because they can't afford to feed them. Thank you & your husband (and ACE) for this wonderful gesture!!

There are idiots everywhere and some of them have a license to drive. Some of them actually think they can, no matter the weather.

sometimes snow/ice gets ahead of plow and salt, depends on how fast it falls and how much and the combination ... been there done that, spent a week in a house (a little bit in the boonies) because I couldn't get off my driveway or street ---> that is a lot different than the inches of snow/ice here and very very limited equipment to deal with it and those around here who think a 4-wheel drive means they can "drive" on it. and I was just trying to educate the newbies on what to run to the store for if they hear of "frozen precipitation" and I'll stay home and work from here as

I grew up in the mid-west. Seen my share of snow & ice & sleet and mixtures, so I'm familiar with how to deal with those weather situations. Here? These people don't have a clue and the state/counties don't have any equipment. A 1/2 inch snow/ice will shut this city down for a day and anything more will just prolong the situation. Tall pine trees break with a bit of snow/ice on them taking down power lines, black top doesn't melt in the shade (and there is a lot of it), and other related things happen -- so be prepared to be house bound if any snow/ice/mixture happens, may be wit
