No. We used to go there when they first opened. It's not very nice now. It's before that on the other side near Ippolitos. What is the name of the place you are talking about???

    OMG! Now I want some.
  8. Cut up bite sized pcs of chx breasts, red skin potatoes, onions, carrots. Put all together in an aluminum foil pouch with some chicken boullion or spices of your choice. Cook over fire aprox 20 minutes............quick and easy. Everyone get their own and can put whatever spice/veggies in that they like! I do this in the oven, too. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes. Voila.........meals made simple!!
  9. Been there, done that last year! Prayers going up. Praying he passes as peacefully as my sister did!
  10. Ok people........this is MY thread about helping teens. If you have nothing constructive to add, get the hel! out of it! Does anyone have any interest in hosting a student?
  11. They just fixed my a/c at work, and tuned up my a/c at home. Good people!!!
  12. Please pass this on to friends and family! These kids need homes. Can't you spare 10 months????
  13. Heading to FLA next week to cruise with my sisters and my daughter for her 21st bday. Then coming home to meet my new exchange student, who is arriving while I am gone. Going to NC to go tubing. Taking my little kids on a cruise in Sept. Taking the exchange student to DC at some point.....who knows what else, but I am sure it will be FUN!!!
  14. Or...........you could host your own student and find out firsthand!! Haven't you only had sons? Now would be a great time to get a daughter!!
  15. My daughter's facebook page says "Host an exchange student and make a family around the world". Short and simple....and true!
  16. BTW, you DON'T have to be married or have children to host a student. They can share a room with your child (same sex) or have their own room. You can have little children, grown children or NO children. These kids go to homes with 1 parent, 2 parents, 2 moms or 2 dads! They even go to grandparents! Now is the chance to get the daughter or son that God DIDN'T bless you with! All you need is LOVE!! You WILL fall in love with your student and cry like a baby when they leave. You can't even begin to know how fast 10 months will pass. I miss everyone of my "kids" and they always go ho
  17. I am Catholic....and from NY and haven't been lynched yet, but I have been told I worship the devil and I am going to hell. I still love it here....why wouldn't they? There are ignorant people everywhere, not just in PC. My students are lucky, we get to take them all over the country on trips. They have a great time here. If I spent all my time worrying about what MIGHT happen, then nothing good WOULD happen.
  18. Surprisingly, they LOVE it. My student from Venezuela thought Paulding was the BEST! He lives in Caracas......not a good place, and was happy he could sit on the porch at night and not get shot at. I was shocked and amazed at the little things he got pleasure from. He want's to come back here to live when he graduates college. I think I get more out of it than they do! My new student, Eileen, has less people in her VILLAGE than we have in the HIGH SCHOOL!
  19. Do you have time to love a child? Do you want to experience another culture from the comfort of your living room? Have you considered hosting an exchange student?? Host families are desperately needed for teens aged of 15 to 18. These kids have worked very hard to get the chance to come here. Make a difference in a life! If you have never hosted a student, you have no idea on what you are missing out on. Our children have had wonderful experiences sharing the house with their foreign "brothers and sisters". It's been beyond wonderful. We are eagerly looking forward to hosting our
  20. I cruise carnival 2-3 times per year. I was on the cruise you are speaking of twice in the past 2 years, once on the Glory and just recently on the Legend. Loved everything about it.....and loved it better than the bigger ships. No waiting in line for anything, and our Maitre D was amazing (Ken Byrnes). I don't think he is on that ship anymore, though............. I think Carnival is a GREAT cruise line, and very affordable. I am leaving in 2 weeks for the Southern Carribbean, and then heading out again in Sept with my kids for a 6 day cruise. Well worth every penny you pay!
  21. We just came back from Asheville this weekend. It was lovely! You can rent a house there, or a bed and breakfast, or a hotel.
  22. My sister uses Dr Sayeed and doesn't like him at all. My husband LOVES Dr Battle!!! I don't use either!!
  23. Every one of us second guesses our decisions when raising a child. They don't come with instruction manuals. You, like all of us, are doing the best you can. You won't always be able to be there. My parents werent, but I was never in therapy for it. Don't stress. Do what you need to do. It'a ALL you can do!
