Sirens in Dallas!

Another sleepless night! My son was supposed to be camping with the Young Marines. Fortunately, they put it off until tomorrow morning! Not a good plan to be out in a pup tent in this kind of weather!!! Not to mention that he is only 8 and will be terrified!!

Yikes! My 8 yr old will be on an encampment with the young marines. I hope there is a back up plan for bad weather!!!

smoke detectors to go off? Lost the power for about 30 seconds, and then about 40 minutes later, the smoke detectors started going on and off for about 5 minutes. They are hardwired. Looked everywhere, including the attic. Doesn't seem to be any problems. This happened once before, but I can't remember if there was a storm or not. Scaring the bejeezus out of my kids!

Pot roast! My favorite!

My son was 12 lbs and was drinking 8 oz the first day he was born. The nurse was telling me not to feed him, but that baby was HUNGRY! I've been around that block a time or two, so I just ignored her. She wasn't happy with me, but my son is now 8 and happy and healthy! When my daughter was little she kept waking up, too. Finally I started giving her water when she woke up. 2 or 3 days of that, and she figured it wasn't worth it to wake up. Slept through the night from 2 months on. Worked like a charm!

I agree with you on the lack of excercise our children get. I am very concerned about my 11 yr old daughter's weight. She would rather read than do anything else. Needless to say, excercise is at the bottom of the list, which is one of the reasons we started out Family Fitness and Fun program at Sparkles. My 20 yr old daughter was at W Ga University. I called her at 10:30 to ask when she would be home because of the storm (it's a 38 mile drive!). She said she would get home as soon as she could. Then my lights/phone went out. She texted at 12:20 am that she was headed home. Turns out she didn't get in until 3:30 am this morning. She got to 278 at 1:05 am,and the road was closed due to the power lines being down. She sat there for about 2 hours and then fell asleep in the MIDDLE OF 278. A nice policeman woke her up tapping on her window. Thank GOD nobody slammed into her from the back!!

Riley worked ALL DAY on my filthy car and it looks great. Sanders Handyman came over and installed my new foyer ceiling fixture. Both were reasonable and effficient!! Thanks so much! You guys ROCK!!!

There was a similar story sometime last year, but it was a woman and a toilet.
