It is the insurance holder's responsibility to know their insurance. In our office we have thousands of patients....... it is our responsibility to get it if your having something in our office...so we have to do the same thing ....place a call to the insurance company. So if they have to do it just because you need something from another dr then it takes away from the call that you place about you prescription ...so bottom line it's your insurance your responsibility.

Unfortunately our government is doing this to us with the medicare reforms. Our regular health insurance follows what medicare does. With that said your wifes appt was probably set for just a recheck and not a visit it is coded different. and yes the price is different too. The particular test I do is being cut by medicare in 2010 by 34% and pacemakers by 45%.( how many older folks have or need pacemakers) My Dr only gets reimbursed by medicare $18.00 when he sees a recheck. Now regular insurance may pay a little more but by time you pay staff and order supplies, malpractice ins. etc. t

in my medical experience with these( I do imaging) they dissolve after a time. If it starts moving or gets big they will go in and put in a "clot catcher" In my personal experience my FIL had multiple clots and his dissolved they had to put in a clot catcher also. - has he just very sedentary since the surgery? some peoples blood is just thicker than others. the most common cause is not moving around
