LOL, now you have the idea!! But it's really not a hike, just a continuation of what we've already had. -
Lets see if things have changed - Election poll

Whoops. Sorry Angel Eyes, I think you were confused about what this tax was meant to do. It's actually not an increase, it's a renewal of a tax we have approved in prior years. So if it doesn't pass, we risk losing some public servant workers, i.e.; policemen, firemen, etc and it also covers roads and bridges. I'm not thrilled about the "Recreational Facilities outlay" but I guess we need to keep the ball parks and soccer fields in good condition. Looks like more kids will be using them now that we have eliminated Middle School sports. -
Good morning to you, too.!! I just came in and what a wonderful morning it is!! 68 degrees here, very nice clear morning and the rain has made every thing grow so well, green is my favorite color. :yahoo:

I believe local races should not be in the cafe. I believe the rules say it can go in County Wide News. And I also believe anyone can post a comment in the Examiner's site. Sooooooo, anyone can post over there but Chris can't post over here.

Another big plus for gas stoves is you can still cook even if the power goes out. Right now it doesn't really matter because grills fire up real fast. However, this winter when we have 2 inches of ice and you can't walk out to the grill, gas stoves are wonderful!!! BTW CC, you can get a microwave oven with a convection oven. I had one for years (about 20) and it finally gave up.

Bartlett House in Dallas? anyone know where this is?
Cathyhelms replied to JuliaG's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It is a beautiful house, it used to be called the Bartlett-Hutchens house. I think Bartlett is the guy who's statue is near the square. The one that has a missing hand. At one time the Chamber of Commerce was trying to purchase it and use it for their office but it needed so much work it was cost prohibitive. I'm sure the new owners have made the inside look as beautiful as they have the outside. It really was an old antebellum house, Gone with the Wind sort of feeling. Rumors had that it was haunted. -
OK, I'm a gas stove and water heater person. I don't like electric burners, but I have never had a smooth glass top. The electric burners eventually leave their mark on the bottom of my pots and pans, not to mention the hot spots that stainless steel develops on electric eyes. However, I do like an electric oven, sooooooooooooooo I have a small electric oven that I use for most meals - bread, cornbread, casseroles, etc. but I prefer to cook on a gas stove top. BTW, we have propane, not natural gas.

Happy birthday UGA 1!!! Hope it's a good one. Maybe I'll see you at lunch, but you know I really don't like Mexican food or La Cocina.

Here ya go!! Not soggy at all. Squash Casserole 2 c yellow squash cooked 1 large onion cooked with squash 1 stick butter or margarine 2 eggs beaten saltine crackers ¾ c milk 4-6 oz cheddar cheese, grated Drain squash & onions. Stir in cheese & butter until melted. Stir in eggs & milk. Crumble crackers and add about ½ c at a time, mixing each time until most liquid is absorbed (about the consistency of uncooked dressing). Pour into casserole dish & crumble enough crackers to sprinkle on top. Bake at 375 degrees about 30 minutes, or until brown. A

Thanks for your input GEG, everyone needs to ask as many questions as they can. It seems some think it's easier to bad mouth their guy's opponent than to spread the good news about what they plan to do to help Paulding. -
When is the last day for early voting and when is the actual primary election?? I really want to know when all this stuff might stop getting everyone up in arms.
-
Good for you. We need everyone to understand how much their vote really does count. :clapping:
