Since I'm getting slammed re: dinner threads
mhparker92 replied to 1novella's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yea, yea, just slip in that you whimped out Saturday night after mentioning that you are cooking dinner from a martha stewart magazine. I so want to be on the martha smack down show that her daughter does!!! ! Sick, rain, cold, waa, waaa, waaa (Charlie Brown's teacher's voice). Have no clue what's for dinner - we're whizzing from one place to another - hubby's out of town (he's having a dutch oven prepared mexican dinner tonight). Us - who knows!! At best - it'll be one of those complete dinners in a bag from the freezer - the worst - McDonald's. -
Been there on a day trip - it is lovely there. And, there's nothing like the bluegrass of KY.

Look what Fulton County Schools just decided...

I'd love it if it was instructional time. But, I certainly wouldn't want to start any later in the year - getting out one or two weeks later than the other metro counties recks havoc with our calendar - especially our scouting calendar. And, I hate the fact that two weeks of my kids' summer is wasted because it's so blasted hot that you can't do anything. Why not let them be in the air conditioned schools? -
Don't know yet. 1Novella has been camping - she's been having camp food with no access to p.com. !

Look at Mountain Lake Resort outside of blacksburg viriginia. It was the locaation for alot of the close up shots for dirty dancing movie. Itts absolutlely beautiful there. Gonna try to talk hubby into an overnightt there. Excuse any typos..on my palm pre

Actually, your landline is probably your best bet (not a cordless phone, but an actual landline). The protections on that are probably the strongest at this point. And, becuase it's a single point of use, there isn't much location data that can be glenned from it. But, you're right. Everything you do electronically is all being stored somewhere in the ethernet. NSA monitors electronically a huge amount of data and yes, they are looking for patterns that might indicate something amiss. Then, it gets kicked out to be looked at further. I'm only a closet conspiracy theorist. Bu

I find it funny - so many folks on here are so distrustful of the government and their intentions when they say something. But, when we know that it's happening and will continue to happen and more than likely will develop more ways to monitor as technology progresses, people just blow it off. If this was a vaccine or a medical "cover up" by the government, folks would be all over it. Just find it funny.

No, really, it's not. There are several court cases proceeding through the federal system on just what can and can't be done with monitoring data - this includes all electronic data - cell phone conversations, on star data, etc. You'd really be amazed at what people what to do with your electronic data. It's very, very scary. Illegal doesn't matter if it's done for ill gain - once you've been robbed or hurt or killed, it doesn't really matter if they got the info illegally. And, folks have been known to present information to a judge for seemingly legal and legitimate p

The problem with this situation is what can it be used for - maybe you're not doing something illegal - but can they use your conversations to prove aggressive driving - then a simple fender bender becomes alot more??? Can your insurance company use it as justification to raise your insurance rates? What if your spouse wanted to monitor your whereabouts and your doings during the day? Maybe you're not doing something wrong - but something that could be construed inappropriately. Without some clear legal boundaries on this technology, this has the potential to do great harm. For

Would it surprise you to find out that the FBI might be able to monitor private conversations in your car? A recent court case revealed that the FBI used the popular OnStar system to do just that. GM cars equipped with OnStar are supposed to be the leading edge of safety and technology. OnStar has run a recent blitz of commercials citing helpless motorists calling in with every type of emergency, from a heart attack to locking the keys inside the car. In the advertising world, OnStar reacts quickly by sending help or even unlocking the car. However, buried deep inside the OnStar syste

It's great when it's needed, but it somehow creeps my inner conspiracy theorist. But, then again, I'm pretty convinced that my automatic transmission, stability control, automatic four wheel drive truck is someday going to decide that I don't need to go where I want to go. Sometimes vehicles can be a little TOO automatic for my taste. ! Let me get my aluminum foil hat now. Wed, February 15, 2006 — CIO — If your car is equipped with OnStar, General Motors knows where you are. And that has raised concerns among privacy advocates that the data from OnStar could be used by those such

Youngest was in pullups at night until almost six. Night time is not potty training - it's the bladder growing up. Just leave it alone for now. She'll quit having incidents when her body is ready. To do much else will just cause the problem to be worse because she's going to start associating it with being bad. Good luck. Was in your shoes. This too shall pass.

Maybe he was hitting on your 16 year old???? Hee, hee. No, really, I have no idea. That was just an evil thought.

My father declared Hemlock Falls to be one of the most beautiful places east of the Mississippi. It's an easy day event - hike about 1 mile in - spend the day in the falls and surrounding area - hike back out. We're planning on doing it as a family just as soon as we are all home at the same time. I've always wanted to go to the Hike Inn. It's a five mile hike to the inn (no car access). You spend the night - they feed you, everything - and then hike out in the morning. I saw it on PBS Georgia Travels.

Hot water and fabric softener have always been my friend.

I have a close friend with a storm and he loves it and hasn't had a minutes trouble with it. Guess he's been lucky. He had his last phone for years and wasn't ready to give it up. It committed suicide when it jumped under the wheel of his truck out of his pocket and got squished.

Just bought a mobile device - my choices were a blackberry and a palm pre (I'm on sprint). Hubby has a bb - loves it - best friend has a bb - loves it. Lots of friends with bb - love them. I HATE BLACKBERRIES. In my opinion, they are an email device that someone added phone functionality too - too many steps to make a phone call. I bought the palm pre. Love it. You really need to either play with someone's phone (both kinds if you can) or go spend some time at the store. Make sure that you like what you are buying. !

Just saw this on WSB's website.

I'd vote for a mobile version. So often, I would like to access information on this site when away, but just can't realistically do it with all the video, etc. that's on a page. I would even consider a paying upgrade to be able to have a "clean" version of this site to be able to use via my mobile device.

My kids looked at a dsi (they thought about upgrading theirs). The big difference was being able to get onto the internet with it. And, since we don't allow that now, we were going to allow it then. They decided to stick with their ds-s. I just didn't see anything that was so much more amazing that justified the increase in cost. Now, oldest is jonesing for the new PSP go - we'll see if he bunkers down and saves up for it.

So how many of you lit a fire in the fireplace today
mhparker92 replied to Cathyhelms's topic in RECENT TOPICS
yep - we had one. (had one all weekend - just didn't have the fireplace until last night). Gotta get out to Dad's for our annual firewood day. We'll rent the splitter and spend all day getting five or six cords spilt and stacked. That gets us, my parents, our troop, our webelos patrol, and usually some for Wood Badge ready to go. ! We do buy some from the guy on Hiram Sudie for ceremonial fires - it is absolutely hard and dry and he splits it soooo consistently. -
Okay, then how about Zachiah was a wee little man, a wee little man was he. He climbed up in the sycamore tree, for the Lord he wanted to see. The Lord said to Zachiah - climb down that tree - for the Lord is coming to see, for the Lord is coming to see. Or ... another oldy but goody The Lord said to Noah there's gonna be a floody, floody The Lord said to Noah there's gonna be a floody, floody

I've gotten them as early as 6:30 am at the new hope store. But, plan on taking a little longer because they weren't really ready for someone that early.

That song is what I know to be an old Bible school song. The big boisterous guy that taught also had the WHERE part - it goes along with the This little light of mine - I'm gonna let it shine. This little light of mine - I'm gonna let it shine. Hide it under a bushel - no - I'm gonna let it shine, Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
