  1. Earthquakes don't have exclusive dam destruction rights. Earthen dams have definitely failed before, due to flooding. I've seen it happen with me own two peepers.
  2. Why, Paulding.com, of course
  3. OMG, I won STEAKS?!? ...and then I took a short vacation and missed 'em. LOL Oh well. Thanks anyhow. Glad you liked
  4. Lawdy lawdy. Several meaty ones do come to mind... but I'll pass. If you want the best, it's gotta be West. West Metro Meat and Produce (Obviously "If" could be replaced with "When" ; "want" could be replaced with "demand", "require", etc...) Meh. Just takin' a stab at it. For gawd's sakes, there's STEAKS on the line!
  5. He's clearly on his way to the Kroger on Ridge Road. (Why not... everything else happens up there )
  6. I'd like to hear more details, there. Exactly how many accidents are we talking about? One would think if "too much information" had "caused" any accidents... we'd have heard. (I'm not sure how "too much information" can cause accidents, in the first place. I don't buy it.) If it's my family or friends in the wreck... I'd want to know it as soon as possible. That might be via phone call... but it might be via Pcom, TV news, radio or scanner. However I can get that information the quickest, it is most welcome, I assure you. I wouldn't want to find out about it two days after the
  7. Well... that's a nice thought, but it was during rush hour, instead. They stopped, around time for folks to go trick-or-treating.
  8. Oh, I know. I've heard it, too. They may even be telling the truth. (On officer quota's, specifically) It just doesn't do anything to help quell the perception, when they're out in force on the 31st Maybe it's not so much a quota thing... as in "per officer"... but a police department's way of going "oh crap", the last week, knowing what the average tickets per month is... and seeing that, as a whole... they're way under the average. Don't want to appear to be shirking your duty, and all. Bottom line, as always... don't speed and don't worry about it. Right?
  9. There were three at the 'creek' on Hughes road, when I came home from work... writing tickets... and one of them was still there writing tickets when I came back through on the way to go trick-or-treating, over two hours later. Gotta hit those quotas, I guess (The speed limit through there is 35. Easy pickin's, fo sho.)
  10. Oh, they definitely run it. It's just that some of them use the lack of a card as a revenue opportunity. Depends on who ya get. It's better to always carry the card anyhow... since it is the law and all After having to jump through a few hoops once, myself... I now have copies in my wallet as well as in my vehicles.
  11. I believe the key words are "If possible", though. The wording is written for vehicles in motion, it seems. While sitting there, first at the light... there's usually nowhere to go without illegally entering the intersection, and if you DO make a move, and the emergency vehicle hits you... that'll be your fault, too. (Seen that one personally!) Oh, this one is a big pet peeve of mine. The year they announced that... there were actually commercials running where the person who got pulled over would present their insurance card, and the officer would laugh and say "what's tha
  12. Your hubby's a good man. There are some out there that would've left that driver in need of his own services
  13. My wife told me she'd heard sirens while they were waiting on the bus this morning. Good that it happened before the kids got there... yes. Hopefully it wasn't/isn't too bad. My wife called, and the school is saying it was just a sprinkler issue, and not a fire.
  14. At the same time, there are exceptions, at least in my book. Most of our neighbors are extremely quiet all the time. I wouldn't dream of calling the police out for the odd dance party or holiday celebration. Does it mean my sleep might be interrupted three or four times a year? Yeah. So what? Is it annoying at the time? Yeah, it might be. To me, it's just not that big a deal. I may want to celebrate something myself, someday. It would be different if it was a habitual pattern of behaviour, that affected me more than a few times a year.
  15. I was 'just' by there and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. (Customer cars in the lot, no fire or police vehicles) Maybe it was something minor.
  16. That's too funny. My wife had just finished saying that it almost had to be one of the Austins. (Most of whom are somehow distant cousins, aunts, uncles, etc... of hers.)
  17. Maybe because it's fairly surrounded by residential area, where most seem to be in more heavily 'commercial' locations? All that's changing by the minute, though. We're getting more and more stuff out here, all the time.
  18. 10-6 is busy, 10-8 is back in service, 10-7 is out of service, etc... Not sure about the 'status' codes.
  19. Trying to read the license plate on the guy's car in front of his ex-girlfriend's place? (Completing the drivethrough with the spotlight to make it look good, of course.) Hey, I'm in a cynical mood today. What else is new. I'm sure he was just there to protect and serve, like always
  20. It's over and done with already. Just a minor update to 2.2.2.
