Thank you! I did not call Gary to try to start something with Jason. I called Gary to get his take on ICE, and after speaking with him I understand where he is coming from. The SO does not pull over enough potential illegals in a months period of time to come anywhere near justifying getting involved with the Feds on a program they only half ass administer. I do fault Jason for trying to political grandstand and in the process come off telling the Sheriff's Department how they should be operated. We elected Gary Gulledge to do that job, and to the best of my knowledge he has been doing gre

Yeah, but there is only 1 local race in November that I am aware of.

And Olens is putting a bit of a twist on the prayers at the commission meetings. They ended up having to allow an atheist to give the "Prayer" and it was quite a fiasco. It was one of those law cases where they won the battle but lost the war.

Beverly Cochran Canidate Post 2 commission

I have publicly eaten my plate of crow numerous times, and will do so again now. Yes, I supported King Jerry during his 2004 re-election bid. Drove around with one of his magnetic signs on my trunk for several months. And lived to regret having done so and have apoligized for the errors of my ways. And I worked doubly hard 2 years ago to see to it that he was removed from office. I am still sorry I had to be out of town on election night and miss the party in the square. I even offered to foot the bill if someone could arrange to have a pig's ass delivered to King Jerry's office on a -
That would be quite some sight! A Gay Pride March down 7 Hills Boulevard. Might even get Atlanta media coverage.

Yes, but I put a large cast iron griddle under what I am baking and sometimes and inverted pie pan under that so the bottom does not burn if I can't move what I am baking to one side of the grill. I also close over the exhaust vent in the rear with a big piece of HD aluminum foil. Should be no problem to maintain 350 or so.

Beverly Cochran Canidate Post 2 commission

Which makes me suspect about Adam Gregory. I know Animal is not supporting Todd Pownall, so I have to assume his backhanded attempts at assassination are a feeble attempt at helping out Gregory ? -
Drilled or bored ? Our old well was a bored well, with a lift off cover where we could look down and see the water level, about 20' down. We did not even know it was here until we cleared the jungle off that part of the yard a year or two after we had been here. Came to find out the previous owner/builder of our place got county water and disconnected the well. It would not produce enough for back to back showers, and the water ran red after every rain. We got a new pump and tank, and used it for the next 20 years or so for watering the garden and the koi ponds. Then when the developer

Beverly Cochran Canidate Post 2 commission

I have no idea of what Animal is rambling about. I think maybe he has been in the sun too long today ? And I will leave whatever he is referring to alone until if and when something is released via the media which sheds full light on the subject. -
Go back an re-read the press release. Jason specifically wants Paulding to commit to the ICE training and to be an active member in the program. That means 2 officers per shift doing nothing but ICE. How about giving Gary a call and speaking with him about it ? I read him the ICE parts of the press release and have paraphrased his replies on here. Maybe Pubby can get a press release from Officer Gurley on it ?

I don't see how anyone can hold David Austin and/or his "regime" responsible for the airport. We might have more planes parked there, and paying taxes if good Ol Glenn Richardson had not pissed off Sonny and get us screwed out of the $4million to build the terminal. And I have to assume King Jerry's promises on the private developement that was going to build the hangers fell through after he got his butt whipped by the voter's 2 years ago and then watched the economy go down the tubes. I DO NOT like the fact that PDOT ended up paving the roadway into the airport, but at that point I h

Depends on how you look at it: Cochran's mentors were in charge for 12 years, from 96 to 2008. Pownall's has been in office for 18 months, and to be honest has had his hands tied by still sitting post commissioners and a depleted budget reserve account, drastically declining revenue, and austere budget cutting. But so far I feel David Austin has done a pretty damn good job and has maintained his campaign platform. -

Yes most of us are well aware of your partisanship. If Satan were running as a Republican and Jesus Christ Himself as a Democrat, you would still have to vote for the Republican. -
Oh, but if you follow the Beverly Cochran school of government employees, you have your job forever, even at ridiculously high salary levels. And if the new guys try to dismiss you, you threaten to sue them. No need for Drew's replacement to re-hire staff.

Darwin Carter: “There are no ethics at our Ethics Commission.”
surepip replied to Mc2's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I saw the story on WSB last week, but the fact it was the Ethics Commission was almost in parenthesis. It was more geared as to how these dudes started up their law firm while still working for the state, and used state computers, other supplies, and their paid time to get their business up and going.....and then quit. The Ethics Committee itself is packed with legislators and Senators all whom were Richardson cronies. Nuff Said ? -
May be totally irrelevant, but King Jerry used to talk about how buddy-buddy he and Sam Olens were. That could say alot by itself.

Then why does Jason want us to have a separate group of ICE officers, trained by ICE, put dedicated to only illegal immigration law enforcement ? If they show up in the data base as illegals now they can notify the feds, who, per Sheriff Gulledge, don't want them. So instead we arrest those who are in violation and Judge Anderson fines the snot out of them, and they pay up. I don't see where we need to pay 6 dedicated officers to do this though. I don't forsee any across the board amnesty coming by Obama or anyone else. We did that under Reagan and Daddy Bush and it did not wo

Pubby has them from several of the candidates. I have seen the disclosures on Barnett, Pownall, Gregory, Avery, Golden, Stout, and Braddock,....but no other ones. FYI: the District 19 Legislator candidate disclosures are on line with the State Ethics Commission. The local offices you have to get copies from the voter registrars office.

I believe Mrs Howard wears a blindfold, and does so on purpose. I would be most surprised if she saw the light, or much else. But we can keep trying. Most people do not have a grasp for just how convoluted our property taxes are. Most counties of our size have a substantial industrial base. Manufacturers, call centers, customer service operations, Sales Rep firms, stock distributors, warehousing, consolidation companies, and the list goes on and on and on. We have dance studios, karate studios, Churches, Churches and Churches [who pay no taxes] restaruants, big box stores, banks, and s

OK, so the PARTY will be in front of the Taj Mahal then. Oh well. We will see you there. At least there should be plenty of parking.

I like Ms Porter as well, and she is a sharp speaker. A far cry over Casey, to say the least. I am afraid the Repubs are going to shoot themselvesin both feet tomorrow. Never, can I remember the ugly, nasty, demeaning ads like those which have been airing on the tube. Some are downright comical. The only valid candidates they have are way back in the pack, and I just don't see one of them coming up to the top this last day. That is going to leave old Roy a cakewalk back into office unless ALL the Repubs go out and vote against him tomorrow, and somehow I just don't see this happening.

I don't think so. I believe Avery and Stout are the only ones who have commented by name. It is possible Golden and Braddock have been on using an avatar and remained anonymous. Pretty much the same for the post commissioners as well. I can't say I have seen much direct posting by any of the candidates. Most seem to have left that up to their supporters and detractors. I appreciated and thank Stout and Avery for taking the time, and to have the cajones to address the p.com crowd direct. I assume it is a bit like walking into the lion's den.

A step further: Why he voted no on a bill that would have put helping the transportation problems in Paulding on the ballot in the way of a referendum so WE could vote if we wanted to pay more but get some reasonable transportation funding. I would have liked to have been able to vote on this at least. I have been impressed with Mr Avery as well. Builder, Banker, former BOE member, or an educator ? With what is facing the state and paulding the next couple of years I kind of like the idea of an educator representing us under the Gold Dome, and I have no kids left -
Right now, the illegals are arrested when caught driving without a valid drivers license. If we had ICE, we would run them through the ICE data base and call the FEDS in Atlanta and tell them who we have. If they are a possible terrorist or felon, we would possible turn them over to them. As far as the typical under the radar illegal, they would tell us to turn them loose. And for this we would pay $300.000 a year minimum. Possibly a great deal more. As it is now, if arrested for no license; they go to probate court and pay a $700 fine. Which according to Sheriff Gulledge they ALL pay. The

Where do you start ? 2 years ago, the Powers that Be at the local GOP made it pretty evident who they were supporting, and much to their chagrin, their guys came up short. It was not a level playing field, but ahhhh, justice did prevail, for the most part. The onboard nutcases, including the likes of Ithy, GOP Rules or RR or whatever name he is going by now, who I might add are precinct captains as well, show how far off the deep end our local GOP has gone. I cannot tolerate the "My way or you are wrong, period. Nothing in between and no wiggle room allowed. Again in this elec
