  1. Animal, Get back in the cave dude. You became a bit rabid by voting day last Tuesday. Have you had your rabies vaccination recently ? Just wondering.
  2. Thank you! That is most appropriate. The mods took away my little chick singing .....something about it being too large of a file.
  3. Actually I saw him and his daughter in the Hiram Kroger a month or so. He didn't look so bad.....well, considering.
  4. And then throw in "Following in Richardson's shoes" just makes it that much worse. sheeze on me once, shame on you. sheeze on me twice, shame on me.
  5. Danna, Some advise here. Don't jump off the porch unless you are prepared to run with the big dogs. Daniel campaigned last winter with his Religion, Christian Values, Family, and TRANSPARENCY as his core platform, along with holding down taxes, etc. There was substantial banter about the special election on p.com, and many readers were early voters. The Thursday or Friday, as I recall, before the election, the skeletons fell out of the closet, showing Mr Stout to be a bit less than transparent, and throwing a rather large wrench into the gears of his campagin platform as far as fa
  6. Good minds think alike. I wrote in Mickey Mouse. And he won!
  7. But also bear in mind, as distasteful as it may seem to many of the diehard GOP fans on this site, you do have a reasonable moderate Democratic candidate running in November. And don't take my word for it. Contact Will Avery and meet with him for a few minutes. He is a breath of fresh air and may fill the bill for many voters over Stout or Braddock/Rakestraw.
  8. If you choose to skip a candidate it will have no effect in any manner. If you total up all the votes cast in a precinct, and then total up all the votes cast for the individual candidates they will almost always not equal out because someone chose to not vote for any, or either, of the candidates. You will not provide anyone with a vote by default. You can go in and vote in just 1 race of 10, and your vote will count in the one race and have zero effect on the other 9 races. Should get interesting around these parts in another week to 10 days.
  9. Animal, In all honesty dude, based on your endorsements, and/or lack there of the past week to 10 days, you might ought to consider sitting this one out in the cave.
  10. Gary Black solidly won the Republican nod for Ag Commissioner and should be able to win in November. I am pleased to say the least. It appears Terry Coleman, former Speaker of the House, former Deputy Commissioner of Agriculture, and former Boss to MrsSurepip got beat in his bid for Labor Commissioner 51% to 49%. If he had run Labor, as he did his office at the Ag Department he would have been terrible. We were most pleased to see him lose his bid, although if Roy succeeds in November I am sure there will be an appointed position for Coleman. Handle and Deal huh ? Interesting to see wh
  11. Maybe we can get Animal back into his cave for the run-off, it will be worth the try. As I understand it, Paulding Sheriff's Office did/does have an ongoing investigation which they have since turned over to the GBI to finish. I would assume they will either move on it, or clear it out in the next week or so. But either way, it is time to move on to the run-offs with Pownall versus Cochran in Post 2. I would like to see some sort of solid round-table or debate on the county level topics: Taxes and SPLOST [Cochran refused to comment on SPLOST at the Debates and used a totally l
  12. Well said. and Thank you Adam for running a clean race. I have one request for the run-offs.......Can you help lock Animal back in his cave ?
  13. Pubby's Fastread page numbers are in for Post 2, complete and should be now for Post 4. Cochran v Pownall in a run-off and Barnett v Crowe in a run-off. Looks like a run-off for the district 19 seat as well, with Braddock and Golden neck and neck, Stout ahead of both of them. Too close to call right nowl.
  14. Run off for certain for Post 2 Beverly cochran 45% Todd Pownall 43% Adam Gregory 12%
  15. Something bad wrong with those numbers, as it is far, far, too few votes.
  16. Not quite so fast. Today's won't be over until 7:00....still an hour to go. Our local races have very good possibilities of having 2, or even 3 run-offs. District 19 State Legislature Seat has 3 candidates, one of whom has to get 50% Plus 1 in order to avoid a run-off. Same thing with Post 2 and Post 4. Post 4 actually has 4 candidates so one will have to make a very strong showing to avoid a run-off. We all know the Republican Governor's race will be a run-off as well. So,.........I would say we have at least 3 more weeks of this. And I assume the gloves will come off
  17. I don't know Pubby, Animal seems to be reverting to his old ways, just with different candidates. But I will defer to your wise advise and back out of the thread completely. I still think innuendo and implication are cowardly ways to cut up the opposition.
  18. I know that Tommie Graham and David Austin are working on this. With 2 of the commissioners lame duck, and the 3rd just lame, they are out there by themselves though. It is a start. I believe there are some joint venture plans with Norfolk Southern to develop the stinky field property adjacent to the tracks off Bill Carruth, hence the widening proposal for Bill Carruth in the SPLOST. The lay of the land will support rail sidings and could turn into a reasonably decent sized industrial park. And Tommie has the hands on experience to know how to go about getting tenants. The SPLOST has
  19. Too much Grandstanding with Anivitarte. I see a chameleon who changes colors according to where he is standing. Pro hispanic in Doraville, and then insisting Paulding join the Feds with the ICE program for rounding up illegals, with no mention of how we are to pay for it. Grandstanding plain and simple. We had enough of that with Richardson and company, time to move on. And I don't know if old Earl could stay awake for an entire BOC work session.
  20. Grass roots, plain and simple. And trickle down can work with that kind of leadership. I met Todd when he and Jeff Israel were the 2 guys keeping Relay for Life going all night long and when Paulding was number 1 in its population category Countrywide. Many have forgotten how we matched up against many wealthier areas around the country, but we were number 1 for several years and in the top 5 for almost a decade. Todd was responsible for alot of that, with help from a staff he motivated. It has been an interesting campaign, and we will not just have to await the results tomorrow night
  21. Excuse me ma'am, but you would be in error. I did vote for Clinton though, both times. Partly from the huge lobbying effort put forth by the poultry industry, partly based on the opposition. And, for me at least, the 1990s were the best we ever had in business. And if you are keeping tabs, I voted against Carter for Governor as well. I don't look at the party near as much as I look at what sort of a representative the individual will make.
  22. We do pizza and pita breads on the griddle. Works well.
  23. I am backing up. I am not saying Adam approved any of this, just that Animal, I assume, and may be wrong, is doing so in a last minute attempt to help out the Gregory campaign. I find it distasteful to say the least and no one should have to duck and dodge innuendo and underhanded accusations like this. To coin a phrase from 2 years ago, I think it is time for Animal to go back to his cave and remain there until after the elections. Bad dog! BAAAAAAAD Dog!
  24. Both flyers say the existing BOC raised tax rates in 2008. That is, I believe, in error. The bond millage rate was raised in 2009, the County O&M has not been raised in a long time. What is he talking about ?
