I told them what it would take for me to accept the job...and they hired me. Knoxville is on Eastern time, in fact everyone on the east side of I-75 are in Eastern time zone. That includes the mountains, Gatlinburg, Dollywood etc...In fact the Central time zone is west of Chattanooga a good bit out I-24. It takes in all of Alabama, 1/2 of KY and 2/3 of Tennessee. I-40 West out of Knoxville the Central time zone begins at Mile Marker 339, I-75 crosses I-40 at mile marker 368 so it is 29 miles West of Knoxville.
