I realize it was a play on words. Honestly, there was no disrespect intended toward you with my comment on being fed the word. If I offended you I apologize.

"Anything" to get people talking, etc. ? Anything should not be acceptable and is a lack of respect for the reason someone should want to attend a church. Maybe I am old school but "having a good time" is the hook under the bait. Fellowship is enjoyable and should be part of the experience but just please make sure you are being fed the word of God and not just hot dogs.

It is disturbing to me, personally, that a pastor would find this acceptable. Using a play on profanity to promote the Lord is just another example of why people look at churches and "christians" with contempt and accusations of being a hypocrite. When you have a Pastor that uses such a tactic it gives some people the impression that he is not equipped to lead them deeper into a relationship with God but that he is just trying to get people in the door to fill up the building. If that is the purpose then my concern would be that once they are there they would be mislead into thinking ch

A little off topic but tell her to keep a few of the smaller limbs and let them dry out (season) then throw some of the wood chunks or chips on the grill when they cook pork chops, it is so delicious ! Prayers continue for this precious little boy.

How to handle a family member who is out of line
tranquility replied to Mama Carol's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Maybe type and save a patient and kind email response that you can just resend each time you get the same questions from her. With your SIL having Alz. repetetion in your response "may" help her but more importantly it may help keep you less frustrated. Good Luck, you are in a tough situation and like someone mentioned, she trusts you so even if your sister, brother etc. told her the same things she seems to be looking only to you for answers. -

What a strange looking creature

Something scared the fur right off of that poor cat. I have only seen one of these, in real life. Bless their hearts they look so pitiful without their kitty fur coat on. -
It does, lemon juice helps dissolve calcium stones (kidney stones). If he likes it try Chick-Fil-A lemonade, it's fresh made from lemons, not a concentrate. You can add a "little" tea if it's too acidic for him. He will need to drink it several days, one glass may not be enough to break it down if it's a big one.

I tried this one a few years back and it is delicious. Turkey (Recipe from Sandra Lee - Food Network) Tip: Don't forget to take out the neck, giblets etc. Put 2 sticks of softened butter or margarine in a bowl and add : 1 1/2 tsp. Poultry seasoning 1 1/2 tsp minced garlic 2 tblsp Knorr or Lipton Herb Seasoning (boxed packets) Mash together to mix evenly, put in a baggy and squeeze into the bottom to make a roll. Freeze for about an hour (longer is ok if you want to make it the day before) After you wash your turkey, take the butter mix from the freezer and slice into rounds,

Has anyone seen the movie "A Fire in the Sky" ? That stinking movie scared the crap out of me. It was supposed to be a true story, I don't know. The part that scared me the most wasn't the aliens but the catacombs they "stored" people in. It was dark, slimy and if there was any chance of them breaking through the cover over them to get out they would have fallen into the abyss. I used to think it would be awesome to see aliens, if they exist, but after that movie I didn't even want to see an airplane in the sky at night. There were other scenes with the "testing" done by the alien

Sirens and helicopters around Nebo-Dallas/Nebo
tranquility replied to DonBrownJr's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Most of this is in general, as we are trying to show the officers side in these type cases. When someone points a weapon at an officer and ends up dead we often times see a family member on tv, standing with their lawyers, crying that the officer(s) had no reason to shoot to kill because the gun they pointed at the officers wasn't loaded, the gun pointed at officers was really just a bb pistol, an air gun or even a toy gun. It doesn't have to be a gun at all but in the dark officers have to also go by body language, if anything is raised toward them they have to make a quick decision. T -
Sirens and helicopters around Nebo-Dallas/Nebo

I haven't read past this post but I agree with your points. When a warrant is issued it is granted for a reason, not a guess. When officers are going into that situation they are briefed on the situation, not just renegades handed a "free pass" to kill someone. I don't know the family or any more than anyone else does here but just from what I have read I get the man had a previous arrest for drugs, the officers announced themselves and why they were there (according to the report and AJC article) but at this point it seems some people on this board have lost their minds. It is a terrible -
