  1. Pictures? No one has pictures?
  2. As an Eagle Scout (and my 2 brothers also) and spent most of my childhood life in Scouts, I can say honestly to get them involved with Scouts as soon as possible. I'm now 47 and still have a lot of fun memories from my Scouting days. The experiences they will have cannot be produced anywhere else! You will thank yourself later!
  3. I've known her personally for almost 15 years and as far as I know she never worked as the County Clerk, that's an elected position and this is the first time she has ever run for office since I've known her.
  4. She was the Admin assistant to the BOC for many years.
  5. Yep, that's her. We use to laugh at her when she first came to work at the SO because of that. But she got the job done! To bad I never got to know Lance, sounds like a great guy.
  6. I worked with Susan at the SO for many years and had just recently connected with her on FB. But for the sake of me I could not place a face with a name (old age I guess kicking in) until I saw a picture of her in the old jail intake in the "Top of Cobb". My heart has been broken since hearing the news on Friday.
  7. I was about to write: "I thought I heard thunder earlier but when I went outside it was jets headed to the Atl Airport" But as I was typing this, thunder just rattled the whole house.
  8. All over. It was only 6 ft high. No damage.

    Our water

I've noticed the same thing the last few days at my house.
  10. I'm a realtor and a real estate agent (yes, there is a difference). What the IRS needs is proof of the purchase (closing), not that it was listed. What they are looking for is the HUD-1 Statement, which is a 2 or 3 page form (depending on which the closing attorney used) that you signed (multiple copies), usually at the start of the closing. This form will have the property address, seller's name and buyer's name at the top of the first page, then 2 collums breaking down all the closing costs and who paid them. And on a side note, check with a local tax accountant for the forms. They will
  11. Start writing letters to your state Senators and Representatives.
  12. Legislation was presented to the State to change this to match Cobb County 2 years ago. As far as I know the bill never has made it out of committee. The County must go thru the State to getb this law changed, the County cannot do it themselves.
  13. Exactly the reason I left. Got tired of having to maintain "legal coverage" to protect me from my department just incase some arrestee or inmate didn't like his lunch!
  14. I hope I don't offend you with this comment, not my intention. But have you EVER worked for a law enforcement agency? Until you have, you will never know the "politics" that goes on behind the scenes. After 11 years as a LEO, I have seen "politics" help and hurt many good people.....depending on how the felt about you. Most departments will do ANYTHING to protect their public image. I'll stop there.
  15. You just don't see that YOU and YOUR actions make people have issues with YOU! Your actions speak volumes. Maybe if you would quit being so combative and insultive towards others, they may treat you different. All the name calling doesn't help either.
  16. Per Fox5, the first guy was the homeowner in front of the suspect's. The SOB is in custody! Only one person was wanted after new info came in last night.
  17. Something no one here seams to understand is that the salaries paid to public safety IS tax funds. YOUR TAX FUNDS! So you want to tax the tax money used to pay public safety? And someone said they would support a pay raise? So we can pay more tax money in order to collect more tax money? No one see's the problem here? Drop the income tax and you effectively give public safety a greatly deserved pay raise with out spending any more tax money! And I bet everyone wants government agencies pay auto taxes also?
  18. Yes, a real estate agent can, that is part of their job. And those with the proper training and experience can save land buyers a lot of money, or from making a serious mistake. A person without any experience purchasing land will not know who to talk with and what to ask. Not all land can be built on, especially in Paulding County. Soil conditions are really bad in some areas. Just because there was structure on the property before does not mean a home can be built now, or a moble home either. Zoning rules have changed over the years. Also, setback from creeks and water sources have chang
  19. Maybe they don't have something to hide and they may be experienced in selling real estate. But the OP has stated they have not done this before and that is where the problem lies. The job of the closing attorney is to make sure all the documents are legal and proper, they are not there to review surveys, zoning restrictions, inspection reports, soil studies, perk test, or anything else that needs to be done during the due diligence period. There is a due diligence period, right?
  20. Usually when people request that you do not use an agent has something to hide, be very careful. Make sure that the closing attorney is working for YOU and not the seller and make sure they know up front that you are not represented. Closing fees will be higher because of this as they have more work to do. To get advise on inspections, zoning, flood maps, survey and setbacks, or any of other problems that usually pop up, you will need to hire an agent that is familiar with land transactions. Many are not. Land transactions are FULL of landmines that can cost you big money to fix or leave y
  21. Im "lurking" thru these forums every now and then. Got tired of loosing brain cells everytime I come in here, plus most of my posts get edited or deleted by these so called popo's, so why waste my time.
