  1. Come on surepip, you know this is not true. The BOC did not tell private builders that they had to build only houses. It's the land owner (aka builder/developer most of the time) that decides on what to build. It's a good example of "Free Market Enterprize"! The BOC doesn't build anything! They just examine what's presented to them. That's like saying the BOC forced you to give up your business and go to work for McD's because they were short handed! Sure the BOC could start building industrial parks all over the County, but who's going to pay for it? You, me and every resident in t
  2. Call a professional! A very quick search turned up 2 buildings for sale and one for lease in Paulding that fit your description. One 72,000 sq ft! So, what else are you looking for that "doesn't exist" in Paulding? Need a place to build a 100,000+ sq ft building? Found 4 or 5 that fit that description! Come one Surepip, you have to do better then that! There is even one project that will build to suite to WHAT EVER they want! Maybe with heavy rail access to boot! When would they like to go look at some property? Or is this another one of your song and dance numbers?
  3. Fully involved house fire on Riverwalk Dr off Baker's Bridge.

  6. Now freebird, you dang good and well that the end of the month has nothing to do with the extra enforcement! When I was at Cobb, we called in everyone, plus the reserve deputies, to work patrol on halloween. Usually we needed everyone we could get!
  7. And you feel sorry that she is about to be charged with DUI because ...? From JimmyZ's post, sounds like she has hit something while driving drunk, hopefully it wasn't a child in the neighborhood, or someone walking their dog! The ONLY way to stop people from driving drunk is for them to have to talk to a judge, and that doesn't work all the time. Past out drunk at 5:00 in the afternoon? She has a serious problem and needs help! Hoping she took the keys out of the ignition is only enabling her, not helping her! The next time she drives drunk it could be on the same road you are drivi
  8. Nebo Rd all the way to the Dallas Nebo Rd intersection is within the city, so Hiram PD get's to handle anything in the road, like lil old ladies with strollers.
  9. You misread my reply. I said that the officer can ask the driver to comply with the state testing, aka Implied Consent, during the traffic stop or roadside. If you refuse "roadside", they do not (or didn't have too a few years back) have to ask you again when you get to the jail. It's totally up to the officer if they want to give you a second chance and ask you again. The roadside test are only to help the officer determine if he has a case or if it's something else. The roadside test are worthless in court. I have not had a drink in several months and could not pass some of the tests if I wa
  10. Only the State Administered test (at the Jail) is admissible in court anyway, everything else are just field test for the officer to determine if he has a case or not. The officer can ask the driver at the scene if he will comply with the State Testing, and a refusal at the scene is just as good as if it was done at the jail. Don't let attorneys get you in more trouble then you would have been in the first place, that's how they make more money!

  12. The orginal call was for a DUI. They tracked the vehicle to this address.
  13. Hummm, explosive flamable gas in a metal container under pressure, sitting in the sun getting hotter, causing more pressure? Yep, ticking time bomb! Track record shows that from the last week.
  14. Then people would just come in here and complain about the "stupid PoPo" again! This is the very reason they make traffic stops folks! To hopefully prevent just such accidents! Remember that the next time you get a ticket!
  15. They just came by my house, took 10 minutes for all of them to pass. Some amazing bikes too!
  16. I think that is in Pickens County. Which bleeds over into Paulding's feq's sometimes. 515 picks up where I-575 ends and goes to Blairsville.
  17. Do you have any more info on this so I can pass it on to my office?
  18. Very true! Polk County has a higher crime rate then Paulding, and has for many years.
  19. Pubby, at a time I was considering upgrading my membership here to a paid commercial member, it's not enlightening to see that you are considering shutting down the site because of improper moderation. Being a moderator of other non-related sites, it's a neccessary evil to punish a few, not the masses. I have decided to hold off on upgrading for now to see what plays out. Personally, I can see spending my time and money on advertising for a site that gets shut down on a regular basis.
  20. I read his book in my early teens. He was a true American Hero!
  21. I was very saddened when I heard about of this event on the news several days ago. But yesterday I learned that Tara was the daughter of a long time business customer and friend. My heart is broken for Tara's family. Then on WSB news last night, I also found out that I knew the Deputy involved. I worked with Al for many years, and his life will never be the same either. He was a dedicated long time member of the Cobb County Sheriff's Office. My thoughts and prayers go out to both families! This was nothing more then a very horrible accident that has devastated two families and many around
