I like 2KX but I say two thousand ten because "and" denotes a decimal point.

It is going to be dicey on Thursday with the weather
aberdeen replied to LPPT's topic in RECENT TOPICS
If the rumors are right about teachers receiving more furlough days before June, I don't see why we don't go ahead and take them Thursday and Friday. It's just too cold to teach. I'm just saying... -
Well, every party has a pooper. I, on the other hand, recognize their age, but had a ball dancing around the living room with my daughter while singing along (except I wasn't lip-syncing...and the dogs were howling with me! LOL). It was fun!

I like schedule A. I just don't think a week in September is necessary. C is horrible. I like what we've had the last couple of years. The only major concern I have is that first semester ends before Christmas break (both years!). It's not fair to the students to return in January with another week or two left in the semester. Starting the school year so soon (August 2) is crazy to me. If this schedule is adopted for 2 years, when is the start date for 2011, July? There is no research supporting a balanced schedule and student progress. The only impact it has is if the count

What was the biggest hit in your house this morning?

An xbox 360 for son and Molly, an American girl doll for my daughter. Merry Christmas everyone!! -
I asked your opinion in an earlier poll and you guys really made this happen by stating your approval. Here's our latest itinerary. While I REALLY wanted to see Yosemite and Seattle, it is too much out of the way. We cut the West Coast from our plans (this time). Here's the new specifics: Length of trip: 38 days Towing Vehicle: Tundra Crewcab Trailer: Niagara Pop Up Camper Passengers: Me (Mom), DS (14 years old), DD (12 years old), BFF (going with us until Salt Lake City where she'll do a "shift change" with...), DH (flying into Salt Lake and grabbing the last 1/2 of trip)

Today Progress Report cards went home with students of Paulding County schools. In middle school, each teacher issued a separate progress report card for a total of 6. Please sign each and return to school.

*UPDATE* I am sooooo happy to say that my best friend has changed her mind!! She is going with me until our hubbies (hopefully hers will decide to) fly out to meet us! Now I'll have another adult with our two tweens and a better feeling about traveling! Yes, I'm leaning towards Yosemite, Telluride, and maybe a total of 42 days. I love Telluride and have a poster of it in my living room. There's a bluegrass festival on June 18 (I think), and it would be an awesome experience!! Yosemite and the Redwoods seem like a must to do also. I plan to blog the trip as we go, so stay tuned

Welcome to the New PCOM
aberdeen replied to gpatt0n's topic in Welcome and learn about the NEW Paulding.com
Looking good paulding.com! With the new website, will it have a new name? We're no longer at paulding.com, so it seems strange to call it that. Pretty nice place here! -
Sorry to hijack, but have you seen this site? People of Walmart

Yep, I did it in '91 and it wasn't bad. It was different when I only worried about "me". Sure, c'mon! Don't you want a tour of the SW???
-
Awww...that gave me goosebumps!! How sweet!

Never heard of that passport book! What an awesome idea! Yes, I asked my best friend if she could go, but she can't. I'm somewhat concerned with all of the driving too. When I went in '91, my wonderful brother didn't have a license, so I did all the driving then in a 5 speed Corolla with 2 bikes, tents, cookware, sleeping bags, food and a summer's worth of clothing. Some of the roads in Rocky Mtn NP I didn't think we'd make it up the hills! I think the driving will be 4-5 hours a day when I drive; one day is 7 1/2 and it's right when we start.

Thanks for that input! I was wondering which was better. I have Verizon but was thinking AT&T might be better; that I should change. NOT!

Man, what great advice from you all! Yes, I'm definitely going to do it! I'm really excited about this adventure. I didn't think about the truck overheating in the desert. Yes, I need some practice with driving the pop-up. Ft. Smith AR? I've never heard of it, but will definitely check it out! I read these to my hubby, and he knows how much I hate guns. They're fun to shoot; I'm really good at it, but don't think I could ever shoot a person. I would just freeze and faint, then the criminal would use the gun to hurt me!! He said that he had to have a gun. We made a deal that

A national parks pass! I thought they sold one and looked at the national park website. When I saw your post I googled for it, and there it was!! Only $80. That will save tons as we're doing lots of the parks!!! Y'all are great! PS- I want to go to Mt Rainier now, but it looks like it will add a day to our trip.....boo hoo! Should I take off a day at Yellowstone for it? Two of you said it's a gotta-see! Please let me know-

A: Stars and Strikes Q: Is FL going to end the season as national champions?

See, it must be my older age and the gray hairs appearing when I need a new dye job, but I'm sorta worried about the freaks out there!

Wow! I'm really surprised that most of you would go without a doubt. I worry about what could happen if I got sick or hurt. Two kids depending on me away from the comforts of home and DH makes me second guess this trip. The plans are a draft, but we plan to stop in: Little Rock, AR, Clinton, OK, Santa Fe, NM (2 nights), Mesa Verde NP, Grand Canyon (2 nights), Zion NP (2 nights), Salt Lake City, UT, Boise, ID, Portland, OR (2 nights), Seattle (2 nights, get DH), Olympia NP (2 nights), Puget Sound (2 nights), Coeur d'Alene, ID, Glacier NP (3 nights), Yellowstone (5 nights),

Here's the deal: I'm a teacher of 15 years (with a sick daughter at home today) who is planning a cross-country trip this summer. My DH can only get off of work for 3 weeks. I really want to take full advantage of this opportunity. So, I think I might drive with our pop-up camper and 2 children (DS-14, DD-12) for two weeks without DH. In Seattle, my DH would fly in to join us for the other 3 week trip on the way back to Paulding County. The trip would mean many stops at state and national parks along the way. Some stops would be quick over-nighters for rest and hitting the road agai

I've been to many concerts, so this is hard. #1 Pink Floyd, The Omni, 1990ish? I couldn't leave my seat. There was so much to take in!I wasn't a huge Floyd fan #2 Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Lakewood, 1993 or 1994, incredible! #3 Allman Brothers, Telluride, CO, 1991 #4Grateful Dead and Santana, Mile High Stadium, Denver, 1991 #5 Little Feat, Center Stage, 1987? #6 Widespread Panic, Red Rocks, CO, 1991 #7 Eagles (1st concert at 13 years old) Omni, 1978 #8 Eric Clapton, what a genius, Omni, 1987? That's probably enough! I LOVE James Taylor any day time and year. Bob
