That's a great story. I just love to hear about family history, and where we all come from. The 1920's was the era of short dresses and those beautiful "flapper purses". I have been collecting the purses for twenty years. I bought one yesterday at an estate sale. I also have one "flapper dress", it is beaded and made delicate fabric. I don't know how the ladies did all that dancing in those dresses. I love that era. Thanks for sharing your family history.

If the person is a veteran they can receive a big discount in retirement/ senior care. Didn't know if you knew that. Yes, there are huge differences in senior care, and the level of care needed. There seems to be a gap in the system for people on a limited budget. That's very unfortunate.

Winnwood Retirement community in Marietta is a much nicer place than any other senior living community I have seen. The cost are much less than Aspen. My dad moved into Winnwood about two months ago. He has his own one bedroom apartment, with his own laundry room and a full kitchen. No bar fridges and little sinks like every other place I looked at. Included in the price is housekeeping, breakfast, dinner, wine and cheese Wednesday and BYOB on Fridays,(they like to party) chauffeur service, to and from Dr. appts, and trips each week to buy groceries. They even carry the groceries in for you.

Any one on here looking for a retirement community? Winnwood is beyond nice.

There are other bb creams, the cc creams are even better. Not L'oreal . In support of veterans of the Vietnam war, I had rather go to hell with my back broke, than wear any L'oreal product . That's just the way I am.

If I catch an intruder in my house, I feel threatened. For that, at the very least, the guy will walk with a limp for the rest of his life. If that doesn't stop him he will be shot in the other leg. If I am attacked, he will be killed.
