I see ads on TV all the time for SNAP. My question is, since we all know it's full of fraud why don't they fix it?

And I do have a dog in this fight, and so do you. Each tax paying citizen does. Obamacare solves nothing, it only makes it worse for the middle class supporting this country. Nobody can afford Obamacare. It's totally out of the realm of possibility for any moderate income family and the rich don't need it and the poor will just continue to use the emergency room as well as welfare and food stamps. So will the illegals. And WE the middle class continue to pay with our taxes.

I have private insurance too and mine is going up this year just like last year, due to Obamacare. January 2014 it will be $30 more each month. January 2013 it jumped $200 more each month. How much is yours going up?

I remember when I was little we would go down in the valley and pick apples I think as early as July. We would peel and core and slice them, and granny had these drying screens she would set up in the yard on sawhorses. She would dry them in the sun, I don't remember how long, or how she packed them, but that's what she made fried apple pies with all year long. We picked bunches and bunches of apples. And I know it's not healthy, but the best fried pies are made with lard.

My BC/BS went up $200 a month for this year, directly attritubted to Obamacare. We have open enrollment now. I called to make sure my plan would stay the same and found out it's going up an additional $30 a month effective January 1. Thanks to Obamacare. So much for affordable insurance.

Well, this weekend you won't find out anything..........CNN just said the website is down. How much did our government pay for this 2-bit operation?

We went about 3 weeks ago before the crowds started. We were working our way down from Blue Ridge after riding the train up to McCaysville/Copperhill. We always go to Panorama up on the hill. There salsa's are the best and so is the sorghum syrup. I love their fried pies. We also went to Burt's pumpkins out on Hwy. 52 and that place is GREAT! There are a lot of apple orchards on 52 also. We went to Mercier's last year, and I really like Panorama better.

It's open enrollment. I don't have to do anything to keep what I have, but I've found out in dealing with AT&T benefits, NEVER assume anything. I've had a lot of trouble and miscommunicating on different issues the last couple of years. So, I like to call and make sure they haven't made any changes, and while I was on the phone I asked how much it was going up. She told me $30 a month starting in January.
