  1. JUSTGETTINGBY.. THANKS for this lower fat recipe ! Hubby and I have high cholesterol and are really trying to watch things. I always use reduced fat cream cheese or lower fat sour cream in ANY recipe instead of the higher fat/calorie ones. I even found some reduced fat Bleu Cheese crumbles at Kroger..I think..and they taste FINE. THANKS AGAIN. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2. I am going to Cobb Eye Center in Austell because I could get an appointment at THAT office right away. Thanks everyone..I appreciate your help.
  3. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes....I got it thank you. Met you at the Volunteer Dinner in December ! Hubby and I were in the food line with you and your wife.
  4. . I can imagine living in ANY part of the country for 60 years & then moving to a completely different part of the country would leave anyone feeling a little out of the loop. It's an adjustment that has nothing to do with stereotypes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THANK YOU.......I could not have said this ANY better.
  5. YES I DO have insurance..... IT does NOT cover new glasses...but this problem is not about new glasses. I think I have an eye infection..so I need to see an Opthamologist. I WILL CHECK my insurance to see if they have one listed for this area. I bet I have to travel to get to one. THANKS......
  6. Hubby and I moved here to Hiram 16 months ago. We are both in our 60's and retired. VERY hard to meet new people and make friends . We live in a subdivision where almost everyone is much younger and of course working all day. I did find a volunteer spot at Helping Hands...and hubby joined a classic car club...which does have a monthly dinner. BUT we still feel like outsiders here. We lived in New York STATE for 60 years and I guess that puts us like from Jupiter or something. LOL Have emailed Paulding Senior Center about somethings...but a lot of what they do doesn't really inter
  7. I am needing to visit an Ophthalmologist very very soon . An eye doctor .... Can anyone recommend one in the Hiram-Dallas area ?? This is not an Optician or an Optometrist. THANKS very much.
  8. ANOTHER fast food place with nothing but FRIED stuff. Thanks.
  9. It' s too bad Paulding County itself cannot establish a Homeless Shelter. This person is not the only homeless individual in this county. There are indeed others.
  10. We had wonderful prompt professional service last summer installing new a new air system to our home. KIRKLAND HEATING AND AIR....in business over 25 yrs. The chief technician was a great guy named Chris Nabors. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this local company. Highly.
  11. AND what about MERLE'S BBQ...near VILLA RICA ??
  12. YIKES...I am 62 yrs old so I LOVE the Senior Day at Kroger. We just don't like going to that Dallas Kroger...the ZOO. So we go to Macland Road...not too far from us. ALSO..We are going to go check out the newer one on Brownsville Road that I saw mentioned in THIS forum. We have never been on that road at all. Lived here 16 months so far. According to the PAUDING TIMES....the parent company of Food LION is closing 113 UNDERPERFORMING Food Lions. It is hoping to do this within the next 30 days.
  13. Sav A Lots....... There are several in the area we visit in Florida each year. Clearwater..Largo..Florida. I go in them to get a package of split chicken breasts TYSON... with just two in the pack. There were also quite a few Sav A Lots back in New York State..'rural New York State areas.
  14. THANK YOU.....I so appreciated listening to this . Thank you .... VERY VERY MUCH.
  15. We had a good breakfast there a few months ago. I also wish they were open for dinner....
  16. Thanks for tips about wings at MERLE'S. I like mine medium and I like to have some sauce on them...not served all dry ..if that makes sense to yuu. Hubby DOES like a good burger...and he likes fries that are made from real potatoes on the spot ....not frozen french fries. He is very particular. I had wings at MIIAS last night....they were much too dry for me. I asked for a little extra sauce on the side which they did bring to the table.
  17. I guess first we'll try Mias..since it's very close to us here in Hiram. Hoping it isn't too loud....my hubby can't stand it if those places are really loud. We are in our early 60's ...so surrounded by a lot of loud guys is not our cup of tea....but we have to try the wings. I prefer to not do take out...but we;ll just see how it goes. Someone in our development told us about this place called Merle's on Rt 61 going toward Villa Rica. Said they had pretty good wings. Anyone that can comment about MERLE's ? THANKS AGAIN...all of you have been VERY HELPFUL.
  18. Whether something is legal or not, I think respect and courtesy towards your neighbors should come first and foremost. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I totally agree.....love that word..RESPECT
  19. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THAT would make me a bit nervous....if you were to want to go out in your backyard and he's out there in his yard shooting. YUP that makes me a tad nervous. UNLESS the yards are a mile apart... MY dog would not like to have to hear shooting all the time..he's too hyper and he cant stand thunder or fireworks.
  20. Is this the Food Lion on RT 61 on your way to Villa Rica ??
  21. THANK YOU...going to check that out. THANKS ...again. LOL
  22. THANK YOU ALL ...this is very very helpful to us. I appreciate how fast you all replied. This is a great message board for help to somebody new like us.
  23. Does anyone know about bus trips to TUNICA, MS. ? I know there are bus trips to Harrahs Cherokee in NC and to Biloxi, Ms. Have seen flyers for THOSE places..but nothing for the Tunica casinos. Hubby and I are interested in visiting Tunica..and we like bus trips for things like this. Did several of them when we lived back in New York State. I have not been able- via the internet- to find any that leave the metro Atlanta area and go to Tunica. Also have emailed the Senior Centers in Paulding County and Cobb County but no replies about this particular place..Tunica. I have hear
