  1. i don't think all changes are bad.....but i still do not see why this was attached to this bill. completely separate issues
  2. not sure that it matters... i don't see anyone being able to get past green bay this year in the nfc
  3. perhaps you should change your contracts....when i started every thing was net 60....now it is net 15, with VERY steep penalties for going past that. for example my last contract had the bill for waiting 60 days to pay me was 600% more than if they paid me when it was due (15 days after the invoice). this is all stated when i sign the contract, so they cannot complain a bit. if they wait 180 days basically they need to hand me the keys (and all other assets) to their company
  4. this is part of the problem with our current system. what did light bulbs have to do with the bill they passed?
  5. jobless claims don't count the people that have gave up on looking for a job.
  6. you are right....but like i said his own statements will convict him hope he gets to do his time with the other prisoners, where he gets beat on daily
  7. if guilty? his own statements prove his guilt. hope he enjoys his jail time about time something was done
  8. http://www.cnn.com/2011/12/15/justice/arizona-justice-department-investigation/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 hope that they put him in gen pop, with no protection
  9. not sure that this is a bad thing. it brings money to real jazz musicians that are there, and who knows, some one who shows up early might realize that they do like jazz, and rock.
  10. you should be able to just swap the sim cards
  11. why would i form a corporation in the us, when it would cost me more? the 7 grand was paid to a mexican attorney, who knew which hands to wash so that there were no taxes due in mexico...7 grand was much cheaper than the alternative
  12. what i am doing really isn't a loop hole it is the same as you taking your person exemptions. the real difference is that i am not contributing millions per year to elected officials fro them to change the tax code in my favor
  13. wasn;t there an issue a couple of years ago with a no bid contract to purchase glocks from the mayor's husbands pawn shop?
  14. you are right. at this point in time most of the good paying jobs are contracts the rate i quoted was for 2011 (http://ssa.gov/pubs/10022.html) i did not pay attention to this since i was contracted through an american firm for the last several years. and yes georgia gets their (unfair) share for 2011....they will not get a dime for 2012 as i established residency in another state(even if i am out ouf the country for most\all of 2012) and as far as your sil, he graduated from a top notch university, but went to work for microcenter? my sympathy goes out to you, your daughter a
  15. i get hit by recruiters also.....some of them i laugh at. full time and stable with similar comps are hard to come by....i have had too many friends that thought they had a stable job only to see it outsourced to india......by being an independent contracted i have more control over my career. the biggest question i have right now is what would i rather eat.....chinese or ticas from costa rica
  16. most people i think would find the .3 to be " a little over" and actually it dropped for 2012 to 13.3% for the first 106, 800 and then is 2.9% for anything over. nevada considers you a resident for living in the state for more than 30 days. i have been here for more than 60. if your sil got over saturated in the market it was probably due to entering the market late, with little experience, just a cert from a paper mill. i have over 30 years in the industry and trust me the money is still there if you have the background
  17. guess he wasn't good at it... there is still a ton of money to be made, if you are good at it and have good reputation in the industry. thanks for the try at an insult by the way
  18. when did i disrespect another's choice? does mr dis see it this way? i just said that i thought there were better options, and he explained why he was choosing that option. info tech.....network integration.
  19. been there and did this before. trust me i can count 330 days when it come to several thousand dollars:)
  20. i wonder if the childs\mothers last name didn;t end in a vowel (rivera,,,ie hispanic) if this would have happened,,, probably not.... i hope the family can get over this tragedy
  21. what does that have to do with anything? explain please
  22. no i think i picked the right field. i work the hours i want, when i want. my hours for the first two months will probably close to the 80 hour a week range. benefits? blue cross\blue shield runs a little over 700 per month. payroll taxes? for this contract it will be a little over 15% for social security. invoicing the client? that is billable time. as far as them dropping the contract early, that has happened once in 14 years.......it took 7 months to get through the courts, but they ended up paying for a full year, even though it was a six month contract from my side (i like free money)
  23. http://www.amazon.com/Power-Supply-Cord-Dell-Latitude/dp/B001MQ6FDM
  24. i have done contract work for the last 14 years, and never been unemployed unless i wanted to be ( like my current vacation) 115 per hour equals (115x40x52) equals close to 240000 next year, if i chose to extent the contract for the full year (my option)....that is a lot better than the salary wages i see
