  1. as far as i know they are still made in Cuautitlán. that was as of march 2011....maybe they have changed it since then
  2. yep we will, and often do argue over everything. and those truck you mentioned, don't they have to be more american than a toyota manufactured here? after all just look at the sticker (and yes for the humor impaired i am joking)
  3. when i had the toy, i didn;t care about dents, scratches, or any other damage.....ended up selling it with all the ware and tear for the same i paid for it after 4 years if i had a family i would worry about the safety record of trucks (which tends to be pretty poor, even if the feds use a different standard for trucks vs cars) i am curious when was the last time you needed the full capacity of your truck, compared to a toy or nissan? chances are if you are like most people, never i personally would rather spent 1 or 2k less on my primary vehicle, and spend that 1 or 2 k on a t
  4. gee tebow lost....is there a photo of him blaming god for this?
  5. one of the other problems is that the big three need to constantly redesign the car. look at an older volvo, mercedes or bmw...same basic car for over a decade. american cars on the other hand required a complete redesign every 3 or 4 years, why? just to let your neighbors know that you could afford to buy the latest model (even if it was a piece of junk)... personally i like the idea that my net wealth grew while having a car that did every thing it needed to, while the neighbors were loosing a lot of money every time they drove that brand new car off of the lot
  6. the problem isn't american workers. the us built camry and accord are both decent cars. the problem seem to be more with the design teams for the big three, which have not designed a good us built car in a long time.
  7. sounds like when i bought my vw gti back in 85.....the first two dealerships only had gti's with a vin starting with a 1(meaning it was built in pennsylvania, and a piece of junk) finally found one at the third dealership starting with a w (german built) one of the best cars i ever owned. i have not owned an american designed vehicle in close to 30 years. american built yes (had a toy camry for a while that was built in kentucky). but as far as the "big three" the only way i would hve one of their poorly designed cars was if it was free, along with a free autoclub membership to have it
  8. not sure it matters....now many jobs in the us have been lost (from the guy actually working at the plant, down to the guy serving the workers lunch at mcdonalds) due to people who will only by a car labeled by the big three, regardless of where the car was made had this discussion almost 20 years ago, when both the ford probe and the mazda 626 were made at the same plant in flat rock michigan.... same car (different trim), same american workers, but if i bought the mazda i was unamerican i would rather see an american working even for toyota than shipping a job to another country.
  9. i wouldn't choose any truck as a "family" vehicle, the times i needed\wanted a pickup i really didn't need to be hauling the whole family with me. all in all, everyone has their choices. if i needed\wanted a pickup a late 80's toy is a good choice. cheap to buy, cheap on tags\insurance, cheap on fuel, and would cut down on ware and tear on your newer vehicle then again i don't plan on towing 4000 pound trailers......and if i do need to i can always rent a vehicle to do it
  10. i won;t argue with you on that......however how many families that need\want a pickup have your towing requirements. the toy is a cheap truck that is almost indestructible and would fit most of their needs
  11. so it is better to buy the car built by ford that is made in mexico, just because dearborn gets the profits? the toyota made here is paying a salary to an american worker. the parts supplier down the street that is suppling toyota with trim pieces is paying an american worker. the fast food restaurant a block away from the plant is paying an american worker. when any of these employees spend money, it is locally. but it is better to buy a car labeled ford made in mexico rather than toyota made here?
  12. how often to you need to pull a trailer thats weighs over a ton? if often then your f250 is a good choice. for what the average family needs, the toy is a great choice, and a lot cheaper in the long run. what does your f250 get about 10-12mog? you can buy a late eighties toyota pickup for the difference in fuel costs over a year or two
  13. much easier to "reach out and touch some one" with gunpowder god didn't make all men equal, but samuel colt did (great quote from the 1800's)
  14. honda started importing cars to the us in the mid 70's, so i doubt if you will find any from the 60's. as far as toys go, the toyota 2000gt built from 67-69 were great. i wish i could find one to buy, but most of them are trailer queens. late 60's american cars were\are great providing you are only going in a straight line let us both carry what a average family needs a pickup for, and compare cost of ownership over 20 years
  15. as far as i know, none. but a large part of that is due to the big 3 not having any cars that will sell well in the japanese market
  16. not sure that it is that simple anymore. which is better for the us economy, a toyota or honda manufactured in this country, or a ford that is imported from mexico, like the fiesta
  17. gee there is a missing girl, and you as a leo notice fresh blood, but don't report it. does that make the leo a idiot, or lazy? after all he was only doing what he was told to do , and apparently incapable of an independent thought. he should be fired for being grossly incompetent
  18. adventure outdoor was over priced on every thing, and i would not buy anything from them that i had to show id to since they have several federal lawsuits pending better to be safe than sorry
  19. didn't see the cuba part since i did not read all 1200 pages. any bill the congress passes should be limited to a single issue that can be stated on a single page, if you need more than a page, it should be separate bills i really don't care if people want to travel to cuba. i did always question why the restrictions happened in the first place . it goes back to the "cuban missle crisis" when russia shipped missles to cuba, placing thier missle within 90 miles of our border.....but it was apparently ok to have the us military placing ground based missles in turkey within the same ran
  20. don't arrive on site until after the first of the year looking forward to it after several years in paulding i take back all the bad things i thought about you, since you moderated a personal slam against me
  21. chances are very good that if i really needed their help they would arrive too late.
  22. i love being an independent contractor. i work offsite the majority of the time, and work whatever hours i wish. that means that if i wake up at 3 am, and want to work for an hour or two it is still billable. the only restriction is that i have to meet milestones at a certain time. there is no way i would go back to working a 9to5 job. was it easy to get started, i would have to say no. there were some people on this board that said that 125 hour per was too low, but for me that is fine even if I bill for 50%. there are several studies that say a persons happiness does not increase once yo
  23. i don't know exactly what i can say here without getting another bullet, except that i agree 100%
