nothing is wrong is manual labor, if that is what you want to do...it just normally pays much less. next year i will not pay taxes, as i will be living in macau for most (at least the majority) of the next year most of my income will be exempt from us tax if i take the contract out of san jose the same thing will apply. i will get a lawyer to set up a mexican llc. and have my "billling\corporate" address based out of mexico....either way the first 90k+ is tax free i have done this before, but i didn't do it with the atlanta contract i had for the last few years....my mistake

i assume you are taking the right offs for your truck, trailer etc,,,if not you should be, if you can do the same income for doing education for the fire department, why not focus on that, instead of manual labor, since it has no (or little) overhead? it seems to be much less "work" i think surepip has the right idea here

some of this politically correct stuff is just plain silly -
i just think that if you are going to put 16k towards a business there are better options with less manual labor on your roi. if this is what you chose that is ok, as you are trying to improve your family. like i said i just think there maybe better options, that do not require you busting your behind to achieve it

on one hand i agree.....but with the way the current tax laws is i don't know.
-
some times it is not a bad idea.....offsets the good business plans you had
-
if you are doing well, and increasing your net worth that is good......if you have a secondary business, but is in the negative and offsets what you own in federal taxes that is also ok in my opinion, ater all you are just doing the same as most large corporations.

i try not to, if i can

ok.....we still seem to have an issue... i would not taken a manual labor job like cutting grass. i don't have too. 18000 per season less 16k investment with a 3 year roi (18000 x3 - 160000)...not nearly enough for it to be worth my tine 90,000 per year......if i take the contract in macau that is less than 6 months, of setting in my air conditioned apartment in my underwear working. like i said i guess one of us chose the wrong path for self employment and 18000 per year....that would not have paid my federal taxes in 1996....it wouldn't pay it today, unless i go out of the co

like i said before, i chose a different route for my business. i don't see how you are actually making a profit, but if you are i am glad.

cannot complain here....cashed in at a blackjack table at palms 12:30 for 500.....cashed out at 3:00 at 6500. a good day overall wish everyday was like this, i would quit my day job

i still think you could get a serviceable truck for under 5k.....but whatever...i have disagreed with you before. i still do not see how you can show a profit after three years working solo with the numbers you stated.

i think your best bet would be to google home theater systems and do some research on your own. if you ask at best buy then their commission comes into play.

ok....you said a 16k investment, and you a cutting 15 yards per week. i am assuming this is 40 weeks out of the year, since most people will not get their grass cut in winter. most business models figure you turn a profit in your third year.....do you really charge that much per cut that you can turn a profit (less your salary and investment , and any other people you have on staff) or do you work for almost free?

the winter solstice is the reason for the season. it always will be a pagan hoilday if you read you bible you will find that jesus was born in the spring Constantinople was reason it was changed to the winter solstice

did you really need to spend 10k for a truck? 4k for a mower?(i cut three acres when i lived in paulding with a riding mower i spent 400 on)....16k invested for how much of a roi (return on investment)? when is started my llc in the it field back in 1997 my cost were internet access (already was paying for), a computer (already had) and the ability to market myself. the last contract i had grossed 115k from January -September. i am taking off the rest of the year. i have 2 contracts pending for next year, on at 85 per hour based out of san jose, the other one is 115 per hour base
