  1. Finally heard from mine. The general rule for those that must go out ... slow and steady.
  2. Go to his commanding officer. I normally don't agree with folks getting somebody's work involved but, from what you've told us, this guy is a complete jackhole and deserves no consideration in that area. Just because the house is not on base doesn't mean his CO can't/won't get involved. Get with the SO in the area to help get back into the house, too.
  3. Mine had to go to Cobb this morning, too. haven't heard from him yet but I'm sure it won't be a good report.
  4. Dep. Davy Wayne Crawford His cruiser slide off the road and into a creek. link
  5. I didn't bash ... in fact, I believe you'll see where I spelled out my intent carrying on this discussion. The point is, she was giving less than 100% to her driving. Was she the most dangerous person on the road? Not even close. Just seems like extra distractions when they aren't needed. How hard is it to say "Probably wasn't the best thing to do but ... blah, blah, blah"?
  6. They also tell you that as your hazards increase your distractions should decrease. Nobody's perfect but I think some of us are just a little surprised that she can't see that she was reducing her attention to her driving. No matter how small the reduction, it was reduced. That's all. I certainly at no point suggested that she should have had both hands locked on the wheel and a dead straight ahead stare.
  7. Not an option. You know, with him being one of those evil revenue generators in Cobb and all.
  8. And it is only going to get worse. Hubby is not going to have a good commute in the pre-dawn hours tomorrow.
  9. So to keep it going for the sake of general discussion and not to beat up on you, LPPT ... if you hold the camera on the dash, that would indicate that you are out of your proper driving position. Either that or you keep your seat entirely too close to the wheel. I get why you do it ... it's not like you're just goofing off and screw what anyone thinks but you can't really suggest that you're giving your driving 100% while you're doing that. And while it may not be as big of a deal at other times, you added a significant additional factor with the icy roads.
  10. So which lawmaker do you suppose will sponsor legislation to specifically address hand held video recording while driving?
  11. The risk you take? Or the threat you pose? Seriously ... that's not exactly what I would call smart. Driving in icy conditions will using a hand held recorder. You need to work out a hands free arrangement if you're going to record while driving.
  12. In this day and age when so many people are out of work and losing their homes I don't fault the security guards for following policy. What I do find odd and disturbing is there apparent lack of give-a-crap about her after the fight/beating was over. Not one of them seemed to be interested in assessing her injuries or providing any kind of first responder aid. Even if that too is somehow against policy, is it wrong to at least get down to her level and talk to her? To let her know that help is coming?
  13. Driveway is now getting actual snow accumulation in some spots ... not just slush. There isn't much yet ... but it has started.
  14. snowing ... it is Friday ... next week is winter break The level of insanity must be near record levels.
  15. Not even close to being just a Southern thing. We used to do it all the time growing up.
  16. Psst ... http://paulding.com/forum/index.php?/topic/237148-call-from-school/page__view__findpost__p__3076311
  17. Driveway is starting to get a few spots that are a bit slushy. Grass is heavily dusted, pretty much everything is sticky there.
  18. Wow, that's embarrassing ... I need to do some painting on that front rail.
